Technical Estimator / Construction Documentation Coordinator

Airla Automation Systems is an Australian business specialising in automation systems for architectural openings.

We do not manufacture or supply windows and doors. Our role is to automate suitable openings by integrating motors, actuators, control panels, sensors, switches, wiring interfaces and smart building control systems into windows, doors, louvres, façade systems and other architectural openings.

We work with builders, architects, homeowners, window and door contractors, fabricators, electricians and automation partners.

About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-focused Technical Estimator / Construction Documentation Coordinator to support our estimating, drawing review, quote preparation, project documentation, supplier RFQs and technical coordination workflow.

This is not a VA role.

This role requires someone who can read drawings, check details, identify missing information, document assumptions, and avoid mistakes before they become costly.

We are not expecting you to already know Airla’s automation products. We will train you on our systems. However, you must already have strong construction documentation discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review architectural drawings, site photos, measurements, client briefs and project information
• Support estimating for automation systems used on architectural openings
• Prepare estimate support, scope notes, supplier RFQs, quote support documents and project documentation
• Identify missing information, assumptions, exclusions, risks and unclear items before quoting, ordering or progressing work
• Check opening types, dimensions, quantities, frame details, fixing requirements, access constraints, site conditions and integration requirements
• Help prepare technical information for suppliers, installers, electricians, builders and clients
• Maintain organised records in Google Drive, Notion, HubSpot, spreadsheets and internal trackers
• Help build estimating checklists, drawing review processes, assumptions registers, RFQ templates and project documentation systems
• Support future smart automation, access control, security, BMS, smart home and low-voltage documentation where required

Required Experience:

• Construction estimating, quantity surveying, architectural drafting, CAD drafting, glazing, façades, aluminium systems, windows and doors, joinery, shop drawings, automation, low-voltage, electrical coordination or construction project documentation
• Ability to read architectural drawings
• Ability to identify missing or conflicting information
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong checking process
• Good written English
• Strong organisation and follow-through
• Able to work independently and think through problems before escalating
• Comfortable working remotely with Australian business hours overlap
