Monthly Bookkeeper (Wave) for Canadian Product Based Business

About the role:

We are a Canada-based company selling physical products (greeting cards and stationery) both B2C and B2B. We sell online through our own B2C and B2B websites (payments via Stripe and PayPal), plus Etsy, Amazon, and Faire, and in person at pop-ups and trade shows (Square and cash). Our books are in Wave, kept on an accrual basis. We are committed to Wave and will not be switching platforms.

This is an ongoing, long-term, part-time role, roughly 20 to 40 hours per month, fully flexible and async. You choose your hours as long as our books are closed by the 15th of each month.

What you will do each month:

• Record and categorize all transactions across our sales channels and payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, Square, Etsy, Amazon, Faire, cash, Wave Invoices)
• Reconcile accounts across bank accounts, credit cards, and sales accounts
• Handle both CAD and USD accounts correctly (we operate mainly in CAD but hold some USD)
• Code GST/HST and track Input Tax Credits (ITCs) so we recover GST/HST paid on eligible expenses (we will guide you on our setup)
• Deliver clean, closed books each month for our CPA

Not in scope: payroll, invoicing, accounts payable (we have none), and tax filing. We keep those in-house, and our local CPA firm handles advisory and year-end returns.

What we provide: Wave collaborator access, plus receipts, statements, and working files via Google Drive or Dropbox.

Requirements:

• Ideally direct, hands-on experience in Wave (QuickBooks or Xero may be an asset)
• Experience reconciling multi-channel ecommerce (Etsy, Amazon, Faire, Stripe, PayPal, Square)
• Canadian bookkeeping experience with GST/HST (& PST) and Input Tax Credits
• Comfortable with multi-currency (CAD and USD) and accrual-basis bookkeeping
• Detail-oriented and reliable on a monthly close deadline
