Full-Time AI Static Ad Designer / Creative Strategist (Dropshipping/E-ecom Long Term)
Confidential employer
About Us
We are a European e-commerce company running multiple brands across Scandinavia and the EU, home goods, automotive, health, and beauty. We spend money on Meta ads every single day, and creative is the number one thing that d ---------- whether we win or lose.
We are hiring one person, long term.
The Role:
You will create static image ads from scratch, using only a product photo/description/landing page, AI tools, and a blank canvas.
This is not a "make it pretty" job. We need someone who thinks like a marketer first and a designer second, and who uses AI as a daily production tool, not as a novelty.
Your day-to-day work:
- Research competitors and current top-performing static ads in our niches
- Find new angles and hooks we have not tested yet, and turn them into ads
- Use AI image tools to place products into realistic scenes, generate lifestyle backgrounds, create model/avatar shots, and modify existing creatives
- Localize winning ads into multiple European markets, right language, right visual style, right avatar for each market
- Design product page images, infographics and advertorial/landing page graphics
- Create simple motion versions of winning statics (animated statics / GIFs)
- Build reusable master files so a winning ad can be rolled out to a new market in minutes, not hours
- Keep a clean, organized file and naming system so we always know what is being tested
We will tell you what is working and what is dying in the ad account. But we are not going to feed you angles. If we have to think of every idea for you, we hired the wrong person.
How We Measure Output
We count concepts, not files. So we need to be precise about the words:
Concept = one distinct idea with its own reason-to-buy. Example: "bacteria hiding in the grooves of your plastic cutting board" is a concept.
Variation = the same concept executed differently, new hook text, new layout, new background, new product placement.
Localized asset = that same ad rebuilt properly for another market.
Changing a font or a background colour is not a new concept. Be honest with yourself about this before you apply.
Funnel Stages & Awareness Levels
Every ad you make must have a clear job. Before you open the file, you should already know who this ad is talking to and where they are in the funnel, because that d ---------- the hook, the copy length, the visual, and the offer.
1. Unaware — they do not know the problem exists yet. The ad has to create the realisation. These ads rarely look like ads.
2. Top of funnel (problem aware) — they feel the pain but do not know a solution exists. Lead with the problem, not the product.
3. Middle of funnel (solution aware) — they know solutions exist and are comparing. Comparison ads, "why ours is different", mechanism, proof.
4. Bottom of funnel (product aware) — they know us and are close to buying. Reviews, guarantees, bundles, urgency, offer-led.
A bottom-of-funnel ad shown to a cold unaware audience will fail, and so will the reverse. If you do not already work this way, this role will be difficult for you.
AI Is Central To This Role
You must be genuinely fluent with AI creative tools, Midjourney, Firefly, Nano Banana, Photoshop Generative Fill, or whatever gets you the best results. We do not care which software you use. We care about the output.
What you need to be able to do with AI:
1. Generate realistic scenes and lifestyle environments around a product
2. Generate people and avatars that look native to the market we are targeting
3. Remove, replace, extend and clean up backgrounds without it looking obviously fake
4. Upscale and repair low-quality supplier product photos
5. Use AI to draft and adapt ad copy into different native languages, then rebuild the layout around it
6. Multi-Market Localization
Our ads run in Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Danish, Dutch, German, French and English.
We do not expect you to speak these languages. Nobody does. What we expect is that you can run a proper localization process:
1. Use AI to translate and adapt copy — adapt, not translate word for word
2. Handle special characters correctly — å ä ö æ ø ü ß é must never break or render wrong
3. Rebuild layouts when text length changes — German can run 30% longer than Swedish and will destroy a layout built for English
4. Swap the visual world to match the market: the kitchen, the car, the house, the weather, the person
5. Know your own limits and flag anything you are unsure about instead of shipping it silently
Communication
All our internal communication is in English. You must be able to speak and write English comfortably, daily written updates, and video calls when we need to talk something through.
Your English does not need to be perfect. It needs to be clear enough that we never misunderstand each other about a brief, a deadline, or a problem. If something is unclear or going wrong, we need you to tell us immediately rather than go quiet.
This Job Is NOT For You If
- You need someone to hand you a brief with every detail spelled out
- You have never made an ad that actually ran on paid traffic
- You are juggling three other clients and want "part-time full-time"
- You copy-paste the same application to every job post
- You go quiet when you are stuck instead of asking
- You use AI to write your application. We can tell. Imperfect English is completely fine, we care about how you think, not your grammar.
How To Apply
Applications that do not follow these instructions will not be read. This is not us being difficult, following a brief exactly is 50% of this job.
1. Subject line must be: Static Ads — [name one brand whose ads you genuinely admire]
2. Attach your portfolio — 3 to 5 static ads you personally made. For each one, write ONE line telling us:
What the product was
What angle you were testing
Whether it actually ran on paid traffic (link the Meta Ad Library page if you have it)
Do not send a general graphic design portfolio with logos, business cards and flyers. We only want to see ADS.
3. Answer these questions. Short answers. Keep your whole application under 500 words.
Q1. Go to Amazon and search for Stainless Steel Cutting Board. Give us 3 completely different angles you would test for this product — one for an unaware audience, one for top of funnel, one for bottom of funnel. One sentence each, and label which is which. Do not describe the design, describe the idea. (Bonus if you can generate these ads in native Swedish).
Q2. Which AI image tools do you use, and what do you use each one for? Send one example of an image where you used AI to place or modify a product.
Q3. We need an ad translated into Finnish. You do not speak Finnish. Walk us through exactly how you would do it and how you would check it is correct before it goes live.
Q4. You have one winning ad that needs to go live in 5 different countries. How do you set up your file so this takes minutes instead of hours? Be specific about how you build it.
Q5. Tell us about one ad you made that failed. What did you think would happen, and what actually happened? If you never got to see the results of your ads, just say so, we would rather hear that than a made-up number.
Q6. How do you find creative inspiration and competitor ads? Name the specific tools, libraries or accounts you actually use.
Q7. Using our definitions above, how many genuinely new concepts can you produce in one full working week, and how many localized assets?
Q8. What is your internet speed, and what hours (in your local time) can you work?
What We Offer:
- Long-term, stable position, we are looking for someone to grow with us for years, not for one project
- You will see real ad account data and learn what actually converts across multiple European markets
- Paid on time, every time, via Wise or PayPal (every 2nd week)
- Genuine growth in pay as you prove your results
If you have read this far and this sounds like the job you have been looking for, apply properly, and we will read every word.
