Senior Final Cut Pro Editor for Fast Growing Travel Channel
Confidential employer
Phil's Guide to the World! is a popular (160k subs) travel channel that specializes in immersion into countries most people wouldn't go to like Iran, Syria and Afghanistan. My slogan is "I Talk to Strangers” and I have titles like ---------- The Media: I Went to Iran".
I am seeking an experienced FINAL CUT PRO editor that's interested in this type of content to join me as I spread positivity about the world.
My videos involve my real-life interactions with locals. As such there's a good amount of dialogue editing and less showing of "tourist attractions". This means that b-roll and music are very important in keeping the fast pace of my videos.
I'm publishing one 20-35 minute video per week, so turnaround time is crucial.
This is a long-term opportunity to grow with me as my channel continues to gain serious ---------- ntum! I have 50+ videos worth of footage already shot and I’m looking for someone to collaborate with rather than to just “take over”.
Ideal Candidate
My ideal editor knows how to use raw footage from several sources (phone, drone, GoPro, Insta360) and combine them to craft coherent and upbeat travel stories. I will provide outlines and expect you to improve the pacing and story beats by trimming unnecessary footage, using b-roll to mask jump cuts and stock footage to enhance the story.
The right candidate will also know when to use, and when not to use music, and have an ear for what type of music enhances each scene.
Many special effects are not necessary, but I am also hoping to improve my graphics and if you are an experienced thumbnail designer, that's a huge bonus!
I'm seeking a hard working and passionate INDIVIDUAL, not an agency, to join me as I build out a team to take my channel (and message) to the next level!
Please watch some of my existing videos ( ---------- ) to understand my style and let me know how you might be able to enhance it
Job Requirements
-FINAL CUT PRO: Please NO CapCut, Davinci or Premier Pro editors
-At least three years of consistent editing of casual, vlog-style content
-Focus on storytelling and pacing
-Capability to confidently trim unnecessary footage and hide jump cuts using b-roll.
-MUSIC: keen ear for music that enhances and does not distract from the storyline.
-Ability to deliver 20-35 minute edits from 2-3 hours of raw footage within a ONCE PER WEEK timeline
-Strong communication skills to collaborate closely with me.
Again, I'm not looking for an agency, rather an individual to personally edit my videos and help us grow my channel.
If you are interested, please apply with links to your relevant vlog/travel style videos.
After watching some of my videos, let me know why you are specifically excited about editing my style of content and how you think you might be able to enhance it.
Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing from you
Cheers, Phil
