Staff Accountant (Part-Time ? Full-Time)

We're looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to become an important part of our growing accounting team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping financial records accurate, solving accounting problems, and taking ownership of their work.
You'll support multiple client accounts while working closely with an experienced Finance Manager and Accounting Manager in a collaborative, process-driven environment.
We're looking for someone who wants a long-term career, not just their next freelance project.
Compensation & Schedule
- $10–15 USD/hour (depending on experience)
- Start at approximately 20 hours/week
- Opportunity to transition to full-time (40 hours/week)
Typical schedule:
- Initially: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Pacific Time
- Full-time: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Pacific Time
- 13th Month Pay
- Paid U.S. Holidays
- Discretionary year-end performance bonus
What You'll Do
- You'll help ensure our clients' financial records remain accurate, organized, and ready for review.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Monthly journal entries
- Accounting cleanups
- Maintaining accurate QuickBooks records
- Monitoring assigned client accounts
- Updating work progress in ----------
- Participating in weekly tea ---------- etings
- Sending brief Monday, Wednesday, and Friday progress updates
- - Identifying issues early and escalating roadblocks appropriately
- Supporting additional accounting projects as needed
- This is not a client-facing role, but you should enjoy communicating with your teammates and collaborating to solve problems.
We're Looking For Someone Who...
- Has at least 3 years of accounting experience
- Is highly proficient in QuickBooks
- Has strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Can manage multiple priorities without losing attention to detail
- Is comfortable working independently
- Communicates clearly and proactively
- Knows when to investigate a problem and when to ask for help
Preferred Qualifications
We'll give preference to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
- Accounting for U.S.-based businesses
- Supporting a U.S. CPA or bookkeeping firm
- Real estate investment or house-flipping accounting
- Property management accounting

- Ramp
- Xero
- Accounting degree or CPA certification
