Sculpted Peaks creates hand-carved stone sculptures of iconic mountains, made by artisans in Bali and shipped worldwide. We are a small, design-focused ecommerce brand with a premium product and a growing catalog. As we expand our mountain lineup, we need a detail-obsessed visual researcher and designer who can help us find, source, and prepare the reference imagery that drives every new sculpture from concept to launch.

Role Overview

The Research & Design Assistant supports the visual pipeline for new sculptures. You will research mountains and identify ideal viewpoints using online tools, source and license reference photography from stock platforms, and use Photoshop, Lightroom, and AI image generation tools to prepare design mock-ups and product variant images for the website.

You will work directly with our in-house graphic designer and our Ecommerce Merchandising Coordinator, integrating into existing workflows for new product development and page preparation.

Key Responsibilities

Mountain Research & Image Sourcing

• Research specific mountains and identify photographically strong viewpoints using Google Earth, Google Maps, and public reference sources
• Search stock photography platforms (Adobe Stock, Getty, Shutterstock, etc.) for licensable images from target viewpoints
• Evaluate image quality, angle, and licensing terms and flag best candidates for team review
• Track sourcing status and licensing details in Notion

Design & Mock-up Production

• Edit and prepare reference images using Photoshop and Lightroom
• Build and update product design mock-ups for new sculptures and product variants
• Use AI image generation tools (including Weevy) to produce multivariate product images showcasing alternate finishes, colors, and presentations
• Maintain organized asset libraries in Dropbox with consistent naming conventions

Workflow Integration

• Follow existing SOPs for new product visual pipeline
• Coordinate with the in-house designer on design quality and asset handoff
• Collaborate with the Ecommerce Merchandising Coordinator to ensure assets are ready for product page builds
• Keep Notion updated on research status, image sourcing, and asset readiness

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of Photoshop and Lightroom (required)
• Experience with AI image generation tools is a strong plus
• Skilled at web research, cross-referencing multiple sources, and identifying the best photographic viewpoints of geographic subjects
• Comfortable navigating stock photography platforms and understanding licensing structures
• High attention to detail and strong visual judgment
• Experience with Notion, Slack, Google Workspace, and Dropbox
• Ability to work independently and manage your own task queue
• A genuine interest in mountains, geography, or landscape photography is a bonus

Compensation

$800 to $1,200 per month depending on experience
