About the Company
We are a recognized leader in our field and maintain an exceptionally high talent bar.

The opportunity
We are launching a focused pilot to improve how we identify and advance exceptional candidates. The immediate problem is straightforward: application volume is high, signal is difficult to separate from noise, and recruiters and hiring managers need to reach the strongest candidates faster without lowering quality.

You will act as a hands-on builder, operator, and lightweight product manager for this initiative. You will understand the current process, define what good looks like with recruiters and hiring managers, build secure AI-enabled workflows, operate them, measure results, and improve them through tight feedback loops.

What you will own
Map the current recruiting workflow, systems, data flows, decision points, stakeholders, bottlenecks, and quality signals.
Build and operate production workflows that parse, verify, summarize, score, prioritize, and route applications for human review.
Connect approved systems and services through APIs, webhooks, automation platforms, and lightweight scripting.
Help translate job profiles, scorecards, historical outcomes, and hiring-manager judgment into useful evaluation criteria.
Keep humans firmly in control of hiring decisions; AI output will support prioritization and judgment, not make final decisions.
Test in sandboxed or controlled environments before any production change, with appropriate logging, error handling, access controls, and rollback plans.
Evaluate relevant third-party tools and recommend whether Bishop Fox should configure, integrate, buy, or build.
Ship visible improvements quickly—ideally daily or every other day—and use recruiter and hiring-manager feedback to iterate.
Define and track outcomes such as review time, throughput, candidate quality, time to interview, and time to hire.
Document the systems you build and train internal tea ---------- mbers to operate and maintain them.
Potential future projects
If the initial pilot succeeds, the work may expand to:

Finding strong candidates in historical applicant data for targeted outbound recruiting.
Improving sourcing and personalized candidate outreach.
Accelerating interview scheduling and interviewer load balancing.
Supporting reference and backchannel workflows using approved data and processes.
Applying the same AI-operations approach to other high-value internal workflows.

What we need

Demonstrated experience building and operating production AI-enabled workflows that produced measurable business impact. Prototypes, coursework, or prompt-writing alone are not sufficient.
At least 18 months of intensive, hands-on work with modern AI and automation tools, with the ability to explain what you personally designed and built.
Practical experience connecting systems through APIs, webhooks, JSON, OAuth, and one or more automation platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier, or Microsoft Power Automate.
Ability to write and maintain lightweight production scripts in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
Experience using commercial LLM APIs and building reliable workflows around structured outputs, tool or function calling, evaluation, monitoring, and human review.
Strong systems thinking: you can learn an unfamiliar process, identify leverage points, design a solution, ship it, measure it, and improve it.
Excellent written and spoken English. This is a highly collaborative role involving recruiters, hiring managers, operations partners, and technical stakeholders.
High agency, sound judgment, strong follow-through, and comfort working with ambiguity and rapid feedback.
A security-first approach to sensitive personal data, credentials, access controls, vendor tools, and system design.
Availability for the required Pacific Time overlap and the ability to begin quickly.

Strongly preferred

Recruiting operations, talent operations, HR technology, or applicant-tracking workflow experience.
Experience with Greenhouse or another modern applicant tracking system.
Experience with Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, LinkedIn Recruiter, or interview-intelligence tools such as BrightHire.
SQL, spreadsheet analysis, dashboarding, workflow analytics, or experimentation experience.
Git/GitHub and disciplined documentation, testing, and version-control practices.

Security and confidentiality

This role will involve highly sensitive candidate and recruiting data. All work must occur within company-approved accounts, tools, and environments. Candidate data may never be pasted into a personal AI account, personal automation service, or any unapproved third-party system. The successful contractor will complete appropriate confidentiality, identity, reference, background, and security requirements before receiving access.

How we will work

This is an independent contractor engagement paid hourly for approved hours worked.
The initial engagement is eight weeks, with a minimum of 20 hours per week and potential to expand to 40+ hours.
You will work closely with recruiting and operations stakeholders; day-to-day management is expected to sit within the People/Talent organization.
We value short build-measure-learn cycles over long planning phases. Early versions should be safe, testable, and useful—not perfect.
Either party may end the engagement in accordance with the final contractor agreement.

How to apply

At the very top of your application text, write: PRODUCTION WORKFLOW

Then include:

Your résumé.
Links to relevant GitHub repositories, portfolio material, case studies, or project demonstrations, when available.
A detailed example of one production AI or automation workflow you personally helped build. Describe the business problem, systems connected, your specific contribution, how the workflow was evaluated or monitored, how sensitive data was protected, and the measurable result. You may anonymize confidential company details, but do not omit the example.

Your expected hourly rate in USD.
The number of hours you can commit each week and confirmation that you can work the required Pacific Time overlap.
Your earliest available start date.

Applications that do not include the production workflow example will not be reviewed. Finalists should expect reference checks and may be invited to complete a short paid exercise using synthetic data.

What success looks like
Within the first two months, we want to demonstrate that secure, human-in-the-loop AI workflows can materially reduce the time recruiters and hiring managers spend separating signal from noise, move strong candidates through the funnel faster, maintain or improve candidate quality, and do so within a disciplined pilot budget.
