Project Manager – Author Services

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Manager to serve as the primary point of contact for authors throughout the book development and publishing process. This role is responsible for managing all communication, correspondence, and project tasks associated with each author’s manuscript journey—from onboarding through final delivery.
The Project Manager plays a key role in ensuring that authors feel supported, informed, and confident throughout the process while also coordinating timelines, deliverables, and internal team collaboration. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with strong organizational skills who can manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary liaison between the author and the internal publishing team
Manage all client communication, correspondence, and follow-ups throughout the lifecycle of the project
Coordinate and track project phases, including manuscript development, editing, design, production, and final delivery
Ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope
Maintain clear documentation of project milestones, deliverables, and client requests
Communicate project updates, timelines, and expectations clearly with authors
Coordinate with internal teams such as editors, designers, and production specialists
Anticipate potential delays or issues and proactively develop solutions
Ensure authors feel supported, informed, and confident throughout the publishing process
Track project progress using project management tools and internal systems
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong command of the English language, including excellent grammar, writing, and proofreading skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with authors and internal teams
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
High level of professionalism, responsiveness, and client service orientation
Must be willing to work on the EST timezone, which overlaps with the client's availability
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience in project management, publishing, client services, or account management
Experience working with authors, manuscripts, or editorial workflows
Familiarity with book development, editing, or publishing processes
