SENIOR TECHNICAL & ECOMMERCE SEO LEAD
Full-Time Permanent Position — 40 Hours Per Week
Job Overview

We are a 23-year-old printing and manufacturing company looking for a highly experienced, hands-on Senior Technical & Ecommerce SEO Lead to take ownership of the organic-search performance of our ecommerce website.

This is not a temporary SEO project.

This is not a position for someone whose SEO experience consists primarily of WordPress plugins, writing blog posts, buying backlinks, or running automated audits.

Our website is a custom-built ecommerce platform using PHP, HTML5 and CSS. We need someone who understands how search engines crawl, index, interpret and rank ecommerce websites and who can work directly with our website and development team to correct problems and build long-term organic growth.

Our primary objective is not simply more traffic.
Our objective is more qualified search traffic, more orders and more revenue.

You will be the primary owner of the website's technical SEO, ecommerce SEO, on-page SEO, keyword strategy, site architecture, content SEO strategy, local SEO and organic-search measurement.

You will work closely with a separate Off-Page SEO & Paid Search Specialist.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

You must be able to explain WHY a technical issue exists and determine the correct solution rather than simply reporting what an automated SEO tool flags.

2. URL CLEANUP, DUPLICATE PAGES & SITE MIGRATIONS

Our website has historical URLs, duplicate products/pages, an older website and other URLs that may need to be preserved, consolidated, redirected, canonicalized, noindexed or removed.

You must know how to d ---------- :

Which URL should remain
Which version should be canonical
Which URL should receive a 301 redirect
Which URL should be removed
Which page should be noindexed
When similar pages should remain separate
How to preserve valuable backlinks and historical authority
How to retire an old site or subdomain correctly
How to migrate content without unnecessarily losing rankings
How to update internal links after migrations
How to monitor Google after major changes

We do not want someone making mass URL changes without understanding the consequences.
