Short-Form Video Editor (Tech Niche)

We're looking for a short-form video editor with a sharp eye for aesthetics who can turn raw tech footage, screen recordings, and talking-head clips into scroll-stopping content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. You'll be responsible for the full edit, pacing, sound design, motion graphics, and visual polish, for a fast-moving tech brand/channel.

You have to be good! I'm an editor myself, has to be a high bar!

What You'll Do
Edit short-form videos, on an ongoing basis covering tech, programming, talking head, b-roll footage into 30- 1 min clips
Turn long-form or raw footage into punchy, retention-optimized cuts
Can't look dated, has to be slick and modern!
The key is how aesthetic you are, and your use of colour, and fonts and music *tastefully*
Add captions, sound design, motion graphics, and transitions that match current short-form trends without feeling gimmicky
Maintain a consistent visual identity and pacing style across all content
Stay on top of platform trends (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) and suggest formats/hooks that could perform well
Collaborate with the creator/team on scripts, hooks, and thumbnails when needed
Manage a fast turnaround time (24–72 hours per video, depending on urgency)
What We're Looking For
A strong visual eye, you instinctively know what looks clean, modern, and "tech-native" vs. what looks cluttered or dated
Proven experience editing short-form content, ideally in tech, SaaS, gadgets, or a similarly visual/technical niche
Mastery of a professional NLE (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro)
Strong grasp of pacing, visual hook-writing for the first 1–3 seconds of a video
Experience with captions/subtitle styling, sound design, and simple motion graphics (After Effects a plus)
A portfolio or reel that shows range across cuts, pacing, and visual style — not just templates
Comfortable taking and applying creative feedback quickly

Nice to Have
Experience editing screen recordings / software demos
Basic color grading skills
Familiarity with AI tools for editing efficiency (auto-captions, b-roll generation, etc.)
Understanding of tech audience culture (what resonates with developers, gadget enthusiasts, or SaaS users)
