About the Role

???? Sniper Editor

Talking-Head Video Editor · Remote · Per-video ($80 to $100)

what we do

we make short-form talking-head content in the beauty and ecom space. videos that stop the scroll and actually convert. every video lives or dies on execution. we've figured out what works and now we're scaling it. we need an editor who hits that standard every single time.

how we think about editing

the viewer is a customer. their time is the most valuable thing they give us and we don't waste a second of it. a great edit is INVISIBLE. the viewer never notices the work, they just can't look away and they walk away understanding exactly what we wanted them to.

the 5 pillars

1. pacing and cutting. bad pacing bores the viewer and FORCES a scroll. it snaps them out of wanting to view your video. good pacing is HYPNOTIC. it puts the viewer into a trance that makes them watch all the way through.

2. visual overlays. show, don't tell. when the script says something, the viewer SEES it. like the way a 5 year old needs to see it to process it. as easy to understand as possible. don't make the viewer imagine it.

3. creative enhancement. you have creative freedom. if you have an idea that will comment bait (healthily), rehook the viewer, or add another layer to the video, do it. the small details that make a video more than just clean editing.

4. clarity. the opposite of confusion. a confused viewer scrolls. every choice makes the message EASIER to understand, never harder. fancy editing that gets in the way is bad editing.

5. consistency and finish. catching the glitches, the audio jumps, the spelling, the small stuff that piles up. running it back a few times and shipping it clean every single time.

who we want

i'm looking for experienced killers. but i'll also consider people who aren't there yet. you don't have to be the best editor alive yet. if you've got real fundamentals and a mindset to keep improving, we want to hear from you.

not for you if

  • you're chasing one off gigs. this is long term.
  • you need hand holding on the basics.
  • you're an "it's fine" editor who doesn't sweat the details.
  • you can't take feedback or won't improve.
  • you have 0 experience in the talking head niche and do not know what makes one interesting.

pay

$80 per video, scaling to $100 as we grow, with room for more as you prove yourself. 2-3 minutes on average. consistent volume for the right person.
