About the Role

Remote Medical Credentialing and Administrative Specialist

A busy cardiothoracic medical group is seeking an experienced Medical Credentialing and Administrative Specialist to join its team remotely ASAP. This is a full-time position for a detail-oriented professional who understands provider credentialing, medical office administration, and the importance of meeting strict deadlines.

Position Details

  • Work arrangement: Fully remote
  • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Compensation: $5 per hour
  • Experience level: Experienced credentialing specialist

Responsibilities

  • Complete and submit initial provider credentialing and recredentialing applications
  • Maintain provider profiles through CAQH and other credentialing platforms
  • Enroll physicians and advanced practice providers with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
  • Track application statuses and follow up with insurance companies and healthcare organizations
  • Maintain current licenses, certifications, malpractice insurance, DEA registrations, and other required documentation
  • Assist with hospital privileges and facility credentialing as needed
  • Monitor credentialing, reappointment, and expiration deadlines
  • Maintain organized and accurate credentialing files
  • Communicate with providers, insurance representatives, hospitals, and internal staff
  • Assist with general administrative duties, document management, data entry, correspondence, and follow-up tasks
  • Support the cardiothoracic group with additional administrative projects as assigned
  • Insurance verification assistance

Qualifications

  • Previous medical credentialing experience is required
  • Experience credentialing physicians with Medicare and commercial insurance plans
  • Familiarity with CAQH, NPPES, PECOS, and payer enrollment processes
  • Knowledge of hospital privileging and recredentialing is strongly preferred
  • Experience with a surgical, cardiology, cardiothoracic, or multispecialty medical group is a plus
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines independently
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a quiet remote workspace
  • Ability to maintain patient and provider confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
