About the Role

My name is Rick, and we are scaling a network of YouTube automation channels across several niches.

We are looking for a reliable thumbnail artist to join our team as soon as possible. This is an AI-assisted role focused on creating, comparing and improving clickable YouTube thumbnails.

Our internal video-production tool, Vidrush automatically generates thumbnail options for each video. Your job will be to review those outputs, run our proven in-house thumbnail prompts, compare the different concepts and d ---------- which thumbnail is most likely to attract clicks.

You will not always need to create every thumbnail completely from scratch. Sometimes the Vidrush output will already be strong and may only require minor improvements. Other times, you may need to generate a better alternative using our prompts or make adjustments in Photoshop.

The video title, topic, channel style, reference thumbnails and creative direction will be provided.

We are looking for someone who understands YouTube thumbnail psychology, including curiosity, contrast, composition, readable text, emotional expressions and what makes viewers stop scrolling and click.

Main Responsibilities

  • Review the thumbnail options automatically generated by Vidrush.
  • Run our in-house AI thumbnail prompts to create alternative concepts.
  • Compare the Vidrush thumbnails against the new AI-generated options.
  • Select the thumbnail that is most likely to achieve the highest click-through rate.
  • Improve or touch up thumbnails in Photoshop when necessary.
  • Create up to six thumbnails per working day when the workload requires it.
  • Understand that six thumbnails will not be required every day, as some days may have fewer videos in production.
  • Follow the provided video titles, topics, channel styles, prompts and creative instructions.
  • Ensure every thumbnail is clear, clickable and easy to understand on mobile, desktop and television screens.
  • Use strong composition, contrast, facial expressions, colours and readable text.
  • Make sure the thumbnail accurately represents the video topic and does not look random or misleading.
  • Remove obvious AI defects and ensure the final thumbnail looks polished and professional.
  • Make revisions when requested.
  • Follow our SOPs, reference channels and established thumbnail styles.
