About the Role

Producer Labs is a music marketing agency in Los Angeles.

We're hiring a versatile video editor to support our in-house editing team. You'll take briefs and raw footage and turn them into finished edits across a mix of formats — short-form social clips, podcast clips, and longer-form / "movie"-style edits — so our senior editors can move faster and focus on the highest-value work.

Hours (please read): This is a support role for the editing team, so it does not require a full graveyard shift. We need a few hours of daily overlap with US Pacific business time (roughly 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM PT) for briefs, feedback, and revisions — you tell us the window you can hold. Please only apply if you can commit to that overlap consistently long-term.

We're an early, fast-moving team, so the scope of this role will grow over time. It suits someone who wants more on their plate, picks up new formats without waiting for perfect instructions, and treats being handed more responsibility as the point, not the burden.

What you'll do

  • Cut short-form clips (Reels / TikTok / Shorts) from long-form footage with captions, hooks, and clean pacing
  • Clip podcast episodes into shareable segments
  • Assemble and polish longer-form and narrative "movie-style" edits
  • Handle the finishing pass: sync, color, audio cleanup, titles, and simple motion graphics
  • Turn revisions around quickly and keep project files and exports organized
  • Work from briefs and match the style or reference each project calls for

Must-haves

  • 2+ years editing across both short-form and long-form / narrative work
  • Fluent in Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve (After Effects a plus)
  • A reel or samples showing clips and a longer edit
  • Fast, reliable turnarounds; takes direction well on revisions
  • A few hours of daily US Pacific overlap, held consistently
  • Comfortable with shifting scope on an early team

Nice-to-haves

  • Podcast clipping and auto-caption tools (Opus, Submagic, CapCut)
  • Motion graphics / title design
  • Music, entertainment, or creator-content experience

To apply, send a link to your reel or portfolio that includes at least one short-form clip and one longer edit, and in one line tell us which editing software you're fastest in. Shortlisted applicants will complete a short application form and a quick test edit before a 20-minute video interview.
