Experienced Sourcing & Supply Chain Manager (China / E-Commerce) – Long-Term
Curated from source
Job Description:
We're a German e-commerce brand (baby & child safety products) selling primarily on Amazon. We're expanding our product line and need an experienced sourcing professional to own our supply chain end-to-end so our founder can focus on growth.
This is not a data-entry VA role. We're looking for a smart, seasoned sourcing manager who thinks independently, understands product quality, and can negotiate with Chinese manufacturers as an equal.
What you'll do:
- Find and vet suitable manufacturers for new product ideas (Alibaba, 1688, direct contacts)
- Reach out, screen suppliers, and build shortlists
- Negotiate pricing, MOQ, payment terms, and customization
- Order and manage samples, evaluate quality, run feedback loops
- Coordinate quality control (pre-shipment inspections) and handle defects
- Coordinate with freight forwarders on timing and cost, track shipments
- Report cleanly and keep everything documented
You're a great fit if you have:
- 3+ years of hands-on product sourcing / supplier management experience (Amazon/e-com brands a big plus)
- Proven track record working with Chinese manufacturers
- Strong quality mindset (MOQ, material testing, inspections, defect handling)
- Fluent English (negotiation level)
- Ability to take a brief and run with it – minimal hand-holding
- Sharp, structured, proactive communication
Bonus points:
- Mandarin Chinese (huge plus for negotiation)
- German (nice, not required)
- Academic background in business, supply chain, or engineering
- Experience with baby/child or regulated products
The setup:
Start hourly, part-time – long-term collaboration with room to grow into a bigger role (part-/full-time) as we scale together
Rate depends on your experience (roughly $10–25/hr) – we value quality and reliability over the cheapest option
Looking forward to working with you!
