YouTube Video Editor (On-Call / Long-Term)

I am looking for a skilled and dependable YouTube video editor to work on an on-call / as-needed basis.

This is a long-term opportunity, but hours are not guaranteed. Work is provided only when new videos are created. This position is ideal for someone who already has other clients but wants steady, recurring editing work with a clear process and consistent standards.

What You’ll Be Editing

Talking-head educational / informational YouTube videos

Clean, professional style (not flashy or over-edited)

Focus on clarity, pacing, and viewer retention

Responsibilities

Video Editing

Cut mistakes, long pauses, and filler words

Add simple zooms, cuts, and smooth transitions

Insert royalty-free background music when needed

Follow editing notes and brand style consistently

Deliver edits on time once a video is assigned

Thumbnail Creation

Design click-worthy YouTube thumbnails

Strong contrast, readable text, clean layout

Optimized for mobile and desktop viewing

Requirements

2+ years experience editing YouTube videos

Strong understanding of YouTube pacing and retention

Experience editing educational or talking-head content

Basic graphic design skills for thumbnails

Good English comprehension

Reliable, responsive, and detail-oriented

Open to feedback and willing to improve

Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Technical Requirements

Stable wired internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps)

Quiet, distraction-free home workspace

Updated PC or laptop capable of video editing

Must be willing to use TimeProof for time tracking

Job Details

Pay: $3 USD per hour

Work Type: On-call / As needed

Hours: Not guaranteed (depends on video production)
