AI Growth Lead - Help Build a New AI Consulting Business - Work From Home

This is not a normal job post. Please read it properly.

I own Crown Computers, a managed IT services company in San Diego, California - 30 years old, 13 people, around 76 business clients. I also own the domain ---------- , and I am starting an AI consulting business on it. Crown will be its sister company.

I am looking for one person to help me build it from close to zero.

WHAT THE BUSINESS SELLS

Small and mid-sized businesses everywhere are asking the same question: what can AI actually do for us? Most of them have nobody credible to ask. We answer that, and we get paid three ways: a paid AI readiness and risk assessment, ongoing AI governance and management, and building and maintaining the automations themselves.

And because Crown is a 30-year-old IT company, many of those conversations also turn into managed IT work. AI opens the door. IT often walks through it.

WHAT YOU WOULD ACTUALLY DO

You own getting us in front of San Diego businesses and getting meetings booked. How you do it is largely up to you - I care about booked appointments with real decision makers, not activity reports.

• Build an audience. Instagram, and whatever else you can prove works. Short video, real examples of AI doing something useful for an ordinary business, plain-English explanations that the 55-year-old owner of a plumbing company actually understands.
• Find the businesses worth talking to, and research them properly before we ever reach out.
• Run outreach that does not read like spam. We would rather send thirty genuinely personal messages than three thousand generic ones. That is a rule, not a preference.
• Book the appointments. At the start I take the meetings and you sit in and learn. As you get good, you run more of them.
• Keep the follow-up alive. Most deals are lost because nobody followed up in week three.
• Use AI to do all of this better than a human could alone - research, drafting, personalization, content. If you are not already doing that every day, this is the wrong role.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Someone entrepreneurial who wants to help build something, not be handed a script. If this works, you are running it, and your share grows with it. If you want stable and predictable, take one of our other jobs - we have four others posted right now and they are good jobs.

You should genuinely understand AI. Not as an engineer, but well enough to know what these tools really do and where they fall over, and to explain that to a business owner without jargon and without hype.

You need excellent spoken and written English. You are representing a San Diego company to American business owners.

Marketing, sales development, agency or BPO client-facing backgrounds all fit. GoHighLevel, HubSpot or similar is a plus. So is anything you have personally built an audience for.

THE HONEST PARTS

• This is a night shift. 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM San Diego time is 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM in Manila. American businesses answer the phone during their day, not ours.
• This is early. The website is not finished. There is no big lead list waiting for you. You are helping build it - which is the whole point, and the reason it is interesting.
• We do not automate LinkedIn or scrape people. It violates their terms and gets accounts banned. We build a real audience and send real messages.
• We start with Crown's existing 76 clients, who already trust us, before going cold on strangers. Warm first is not a lack of ambition. It is just what works.
• You need genuinely reliable internet and a computer, plus a backup plan for when the power goes out.

PAY

Base of 1,500 to 2,500 USD per month depending on experience, PLUS a real share of the revenue of the business you are helping build. I will not put a percentage in a public job post, but I will tell you the number openly in our conversation and put it in writing. This is meant to be a founding-team arrangement, not a bonus scheme.

HOW TO APPLY - THIS IS PART OF THE TEST

2. Your resume, plus a link to anything you have built an audience for, even a small one. Show me the real numbers, honestly.

3. A voice recording of yourself - WAV or MP3, two to three minutes - reading this out loud and then answering it:
"Pretend I own a 20-person landscaping company in San Diego and I know nothing about AI. In two minutes, convince me to take a meeting with you."
No ZIP or RAR files. Applications without a voice recording will not be reviewed. For this role, the recording matters more than your resume.

4. One line: can you work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM San Diego time, five days a week, long term? Yes or no.
