About the Role
We’re looking for a reliable Alibaba Sourcing Coordinator to help with ad hoc product sourcing requests for our property and business projects.
This is a flexible, hourly contractor role rather than a full-time position. You’ll take a product brief, contact suitable suppliers, gather and compare quotes, negotiate where appropriate, and present the best options clearly.
Requests may include signage, renovation materials, fixtures, house numbers and other miscellaneous products.
Scope of Work
- Searching Alibaba for suitable products and suppliers
- Contacting multiple suppliers for each request
- Sending product specifications, logos, quantities and delivery details
- Requesting and comparing quotes
- Negotiating pricing, minimum order quantities, lead times and shipping terms
- Following up with suppliers and managing messages
- Identifying any unclear terms, risks or unexpected costs
- Presenting the best supplier options in a simple comparison
- Keeping quotes, links and supplier details organised
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience sourcing products through Alibaba
- Confidence communicating and negotiating with suppliers
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to compare pricing, quality, lead times and shipping costs
- Clear written English and proactive communication
- Someone who follows through and does not need to be chased
- Availability to assist with sourcing requests as they come up
- Experience sourcing renovation, building or property-related products would be a bonus.
