Billing and Coding Team Lead

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive Billing & Coding Team Lead to oversee the daily activities of our billing and coding team. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of medical billing and coding, and a passion for improving team performance, accuracy, and revenue cycle efficiency.

About the Role:
As the Billing & Coding Team Lead, you will supervise the day-to-day operations of the billing and coding team, ensuring claims are coded accurately, submitted promptly, and followed through to payment. You will serve as the primary point of support for the team, assisting with complex billing and coding issues while maintaining compliance with payer guidelines and healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the daily operations of the billing and coding team.
• Monitor team productivity, accuracy, and turnaround times.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and ongoing training to tea ---------- mbers.
• Review and resolve complex billing, coding, and claim-related issues.
• Ensure accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding in accordance with payer and regulatory guidelines.
• Oversee timely claim submission, payment posting, denial management, and accounts receivable follow-up.
• Monitor claim denials and identify trends to improve reimbursement rates.
• Collaborate with providers and other departments to resolve documentation and coding discrepancies.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, payer requirements, and industry regulations.
• Assist with quality assurance audits and implement process improvements.
• Support onboarding and training of new billing and coding staff.
• Generate reports and communicate team performance, challenges, and recommendations to management.

Who We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in medical billing and coding.
• Previous experience leading or mentoring a billing and coding team.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, insurance claims, and reimbursement processes.
• Experience with denial management, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• High level of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
