Full stack Shopify and web developer

About the Role

We're looking for a Full Stack Developer to build, customise, and maintain Shopify stores and general websites for our client portfolio. You'll work across theme development, custom app/integration work, and front-to-back functionality comfortable both making a store look right and making it work right under the hood.

Responsibilities

Build and customise Shopify themes (Liquid, JSON templates, sections/blocks) to match brand and UX requirements
Develop custom Shopify features: metafields, custom apps, checkout/cart customisation, third-party integrations
Build and maintain non-Shopify websites (WordPress, Webflow, or custom stacks) as needed
Front-end development: HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, responsive/mobile-first builds
Back-end/integration work: APIs, webhooks, CRM connections (e.g. GoHighLevel), payment gateways
Troubleshoot and fix bugs, performance issues, and Core Web Vitals problems
Implement SEO-friendly technical foundations (site structure, schema, page speed, redirects)
Set up and manage apps/plugins (Shopify App Store, WordPress plugins)
Collaborate with design and marketing teams to translate briefs into functioning pages
Maintain version control and follow structured deployment/testing practices
Provide ongoing site maintenance, updates, and support across client accounts

Requirements

2–3+ years of Shopify development experience (Liquid, Shopify CLI, theme architecture)
Strong front-end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React/Vue a plus)
Experience with Shopify APIs, metafields, and app integrations
Familiarity with a second CMS or stack (WordPress, Webflow, or custom PHP/Node)
Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
Git/version control experience
Ability to manage multiple client projects and deadlines simultaneously (agency experience a plus)
Basic SEO technical knowledge (page speed, structured data, clean URLs)

Nice to Have

Experience with headless Shopify (Hydrogen, Storefront API)
CRM/automation platform experience (GoHighLevel, HubSpot)
UI/UX design sensibility or Figma familiarity
E-commerce conversion optimisation experience (CRO)
