Short-Form Video Editor

BestPerfume.Store is hiring a skilled short-form video editor for Meta: Facebook and Instagram Reels.

This role is short-form editing only

Work Volume

• 3–5 finished videos per week
• Multiple hook variations from the same footage
• Primarily 15–45 second videos
• Consistent ongoing work

What You Will Edit

• UGC-style videos
• Founder-led videos
• Product demonstrations
• Talking-head content
• Short-form advertisements
• Multiple hook variations from the same core video

What Good Editing Means to Us

You must know how to:

• Remove dead space without making speech feel unnatural
• Improve pacing and viewer retention
• Select the strongest takes
• Identify weak framing, lighting, positioning and delivery
• Use zooms, cuts, sound effects and motion graphics selectively
• Add subtitles that are clean and easy to read
• Use B-roll and product footage with purpose
• Improve weak footage where realistically possible
• Make content feel native to social media—not like a corporate video
• Keep editing polished without making it loud, childish or cringe
• Add relevant b-roll to reflect what is being said

We prefer editors with good judgment over editors who use the most effects.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio of short-form content
• Experience editing Reels, TikToks or short-form advertisements
• Strong understanding of pacing, hooks and viewer retention
• Good visual judgment
• Able to identify problems in footage, not just follow instructions
• Reliable communication
• Able to meet deadlines consistently
• Comfortable receiving direct feedback
• Proficient in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or equivalent professional software
• Must provide editable project files when requested

Do not apply if:

• Your portfolio mainly contains long-form videos
• You rely heavily on CapCut templates
• Every video uses excessive emojis, sound effects and transitions
• You need detailed instructions for every cut
• You cannot explain why you made an editing decision
• You submit generic applications written by AI
• You are not bonus-driven to put the work in
