Video Editor (Mid-Senior) - Long-Term Freelance

We are a UK photography and video production company, selected as one of the Top 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide by Lürzer's Archive in 2025. Our commercial and advertising work includes Lenovo, Volkswagen, Aston Martin, Rip Curl, AEG, Cow & Gate, Dubarry, Unipart and Bassetts Vitamins. We continue to work with brands like these, and the main focus we're pushing at the ---------- nt is the healthcare sector. The standard is high, the work is human, warm and precise, and there is variety across our other commercial projects alongside it.

The role

We're looking for an experienced editor to work with us on an ongoing, freelance basis, project by project. The work comes in as we book shoots across the UK, so it arrives in waves rather than at a steady weekly pace, and it is paid per project rather than full-time hours. We would love someone who sticks with us and learns how we work. Most of it is social-first content cut from combined photography and video shoots:

60-second story films, brand films and testimonials
Short cutdowns (10 to 30 seconds) for Instagram, Facebook and YouTube Shorts
Portrait reformats for social
Behind-the-scenes and lifestyle content

As the relationship grows, so does the work and the range of projects you take on.

What we're looking for

A mid to senior editor who:

Knows how to find the story in raw material, not just assemble clips
Works efficiently and communicates clearly
Takes ownership of a project without needing to be chased
Understands the difference between fast and rushed

This isn't a junior role. You'll be trusted to make creative decisions and deliver without constant direction.

Tools

Comfortable in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, and ---------- (or happy to learn it quickly). Useful but not essential: After Effects, basic colour grading, audio cleanup.

How we work

You'll receive organised proxies, a clear brief, and a delivery spec. You submit your cut, receive feedback, refine. Clear deadlines per project. Proactive communication matters as much as the edit. Updates without being asked, questions before guessing, problems flagged the ---------- nt they appear.

Location and hours

We're UK-based. When you're on a project, we expect proactive daily updates aligned to UK hours (GMT/BST). Between projects there's no standing time commitment.

Trial and growth

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a paid trial edit. If it's a strong fit, this becomes an ongoing freelance relationship with regular work and growing responsibility as we grow.
