Senior Video Editor | Help Build One of Canada's Fastest Growing Independent Media Brands
Curated from source
My name is Nico Lagan — a full-time content creator, former telecom sales engineer turned broadcaster. My content reaches over 225,000 followers and generates millions of views every month across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook , TikTok, Clapper, X, and Rumble. I'm blessed to interview and be interviewed by some of the biggest names in my niche in Canada and the US — the content you create won't just be seen by millions, it'll be shared by some of the most well-known accounts in the space.
Until now I've been a one-man team handling everything myself, but I've reached the point where I can no longer do it alone — and this is a real opportunity to be part of that growth from the ground up.
About the show:
I record my live show 3 times a week — 7-8pm EST, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday. I do deep dives on politics, government policy, free speech, censorship, surveillance, AI, gun rights, vaccination, healthcare, and Christianity, plus expert interviews in my niche.
What you'll be creating from each episode:
3 reels per episode (2-camera live show setup, plus reels when I'm a guest on other shows).
Crucial detail: I need at least one reel and the medium-length video edited immediately overnight following the live episode so they are ready to post the next morning. The remaining reels can be finished over the following days.
Medium-length videos (16 x 9 format): the best 5-10 minutes pulled from each episode
This is to be done directly following the episode to be posted the following day.
For client work (podcast series & interviews I produce):
In-person interviews:
Syncing and cutting long-form client work: In-person interviews (3-camera setup, 2 sound files)
Online interviews: 2-camera setup
Occasionally, reels for clients based on their long-form content (specific timestamps always provided)
How this works:
You'll have access to my StreamYard platform to download locally recorded footage, plus a shared Google Drive with show notes, sources, and timestamps marking the best ---------- nts for reels and medium-length content for every episode. The idea: you work while I sleep, so I can review and start publishing the content the day after each show records.
I already have a reel style and structure developed over years of testing that performs well — but there's always room to make it better, and that's where you come in.
Hours: This is a full time position - 40 hours a week: Monday to Friday. On the day where i didn’t record a live, you will edit reels from the previous episode, medium length video and client reels or long form videos. The exact structure is to be discussed between my chosen video editor and me.
What I'm looking for:
Someone who follows direction but brings real creative judgment — I'm not interested in micromanaging. More than a skilled editor, I need someone who actually understands and relates to this kind of content. That matters more than anything else.
To apply, please include:
Tell me your favorite reels from my content — you can find ---------- on all platforms.
A link to your editing portfolio or reel samples (political/commentary content preferred, but not required)
A short note on why this kind of content interests you.
The individuals moving to the live interview stages will have to create one reel from my content to show what they can do. I will not be posting the reel as this is for testing purposes only.
