Video Editor – Instagram Reels & YouTube (German-Language Fitness Content)

We're an online fitness coaching brand looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Video Editor to join our team long-term, part-time.

YOUR MAIN JOB
Edit short-form Instagram Reels (and later, longer YouTube videos) for a German-speaking fitness/nutrition coach.

IMPORTANT — ALL RAW FOOTAGE IS IN GERMAN
You do not need to speak German. Before editing, you will use a transcription + translation tool (e.g. Descript, otter.ai, or similar, combined with Google Translate/DeepL) to transcribe the German audio and translate it into English. This lets you understand exactly what's being said and what the video is about, so you can make smart editing decisions (hooks, cuts, pacing) even without understanding German directly. This step is required for every video.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Rough-cut raw talking-head footage: remove filler words, dead air, and retakes; keep only the cleanest take
• Craft strong hooks in the first 1-3 seconds (text overlays, zoom-ins, pattern interrupts)
• Add b-roll, styled burned-in captions/subtitles, sound design, and simple motion graphics
• Follow an established visual style/template once trained on it
• Deliver polished vertical Reels (9:16) and, later, longer-form YouTube videos (16:9)
• Turn videos around quickly and reliably; communicate proactively if anything is unclear

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Proven experience editing short-form content (Reels/TikTok/Shorts) — please share a portfolio or reel of your best edits
• Strong sense for pacing, hooks, and what keeps viewers watching
• Comfortable using transcription/translation tools to work with non-English (German) audio
• Skilled in CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar (please tell us which tool you use)
• Reliable internet connection and own equipment
• Good written English communication

This is a part-time, long-term role with room to grow into more responsibility (e.g. YouTube long-form editing) as we scale.
