Social Video Editor (Organic + Paid) — DTC Wellness Brand (Shark Tank Featured)

ABOUT US

The Qi ( ---------- ) is a premium wellness tea brand featured on Shark Tank Season 17 (Nov 2025). We're scaling across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, and Meta paid. We've been featured in Vogue, Allure, Forbes, Bon Appétit, Eater, and New York Magazine.

Our founder films the raw creative and runs the ad account herself. What's missing is the editor who turns that footage into 15 finished videos a week, founder content, brand content, and paid ad cuts and distributes the winners everywhere they should live.

WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR

You are a social-native editor who understands that organic content and Meta ads are different crafts. An organic post should feel loose, real, and trend-aware not like a commercial. A Meta ad cut needs a hard hook in the first 2 seconds and a clear payoff. You move between both registers without being told.

You're also a distribution operator: you take the best-performing videos and repurpose them correctly across TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Pinterest - respecting each platform's specs, safe zones, and native feel. You promote winners; you don't spray everything everywhere.

You're fast because you use AI tools to multiply output, not because you cut corners.

You will NOT run our ad account. The founder runs paid and briefs you on what to cut. Your job is the edit and the distribution.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Edit 15 videos per week, across three streams:

  • 5 founder-led organic videos (personal brand ---------- — native, real, trend-aware talking-head and story content
  • 5 brand organic videos (business ---------- — product, ritual, and educational content; more editorial and polished
  • 5 Meta ad cuts from founder footage — performance: hard hook in first 2 sec, captions, tight pacing, clear CTA

Plus distribution:

  • Repurpose and publish selected winners daily across Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Pinterest.
  • Pick the best 1–2 performers from the last 72 hours and spread those, not a blanket cross-post of everything
  • Iterate winners: same video, new hooks, new thumbnails, new opening 3 seconds
  • Use AI tools (CapCut AI, Opus Clip, Descript, ElevenLabs) to hit volume without sacrificing quality
  • Hand finished ad cuts to the founder for upload (you do not touch the ad account)

MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years editing short-form video for DTC / consumer brands
  • Both crafts: a portfolio showing organic social content (TikTok-native) AND paid ad creative. Show us both.
  • Distribution fluency: you know the spec and native-feel differences between TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and Pinterest, and you reformat properly for each (not just re-uploading one file everywhere)
  • AI-tool fluent — this is how you hit 15/week. Comfortable using CapCut AI, Opus Clip, Descript, ElevenLabs, and similar daily. (We judge on output, not which base editor you use, but if you can't multiply with AI, you can't hold our cadence.)
  • Proven weekly output — you've delivered 12+ finished cuts per week before, plus repurposing. Tell us where.
  • Fluent in captions, hook-writing at the cut level, and 9:16 vertical
  • Excellent written English, working 10am - 6pm US Eastern Time hours

NICE TO HAVE

  • Wellness, beauty, or fashion DTC brand experience
  • Experience editing founder-led / talking-head content
  • A point of view on what makes an organic TikTok land vs. a paid ad (we'll ask)
  • Light motion graphics / on-brand typography

TURNAROUND EXPECTATIONS (FIRM)

  • Priority meta paid cuts delivered within 48 hours of receiving footage
  • Weekly batch delivered by Wed 6pm EST: 15 videos (5 founder + 5 brand + 5 ad cuts)
  • Daily distribution: selected winners repurposed and posted to Reels / Shorts / Pinterest
  • This is a high-cadence role. If you currently juggle more than 2–3 clients, this likely isn't a fit. We're looking for someone to grow with us ONLY f/t for the long run.

COMPENSATION

  • $1,000–$1,500/month based on experience: full-time (~40 hrs/week)
  • 1-month paid trial period to start, evaluated at 30 days
  • Performance bonus: $100 when a video you cut becomes a scaled winner in our ad account
  • December year end bonus if we hit our company revenue goal
  • Long-term relationship, we're looking to grow with you for years, not weeks
