Remote Bookkeeper / Client Accounting Specialist

About the Role

We are a growing accounting firm looking for a Remote Bookkeeper / Client Accounting Specialist to support our team during both regular months and busy season. This role handles day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and client accounting support so our CPAs can focus on higher-level tax and advisory work.

This role works US business hours, which fall during the night in the Philippines. Please only apply if you are able to work a consistent night shift long term.

Core Responsibilities

Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate books for multiple clients including data entry, categorization, and monthly reconciliations.

Client Accounting Support: Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and general ledger maintenance across a portfolio of client accounts.

Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and summaries for client and internal review.

Tax Season Support: Assist with document collection, organization, and preparation support during tax season, helping the firm handle increased volume without dropping quality.

Communication: Respond to client questions about their books and financials in a clear, professional manner.

What We Are Looking For

Required:

1 or more years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting support, or client accounting services
Comfortable with QuickBooks Online or Desktop, or a similar accounting platform, and willing to learn our specific setup
Strong written and spoken English
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment on a night shift schedule
Careful and accurate with numbers

Preferred:

Direct experience with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop specifically
Experience supporting multiple clients simultaneously in a firm setting, not just single-company bookkeeping
Familiarity with payroll platforms such as Gusto or ADP
Any formal accounting or bookkeeping certification
Previous experience working a night shift or graveyard schedule for a US-based company

Compensation and Details

Full time, 40 hours per week
Remote from the Philippines
Night shift hours aligned to US business hours
Pay range: $5 to $7 per hour depending on experience
Independent contractor engagement
