About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Persuasive Copy: Write clear, compelling, and persuasive sales copy for a variety of outbound and inbound channels, including email campaigns, cold outreach, website, and social media.
  • Understand Target Audience: Conduct research to understand the pain points, needs, and desires of our target audience, thereby producing relevant customer personas and journeys.
  • Implement Effective SEO Practices: Conduct keyword optimisation and create customer-centric website copy to attract and engage potential customers.
  • Conduct Competitor Analysis: Study the copywriting techniques of our competitors in their various channels for inspiration and best practices, and make informed decisions on improving our own channels.
  • Create Engaging Content: Develop attention-grabbing subject lines, headlines, and calls to action that encourage engagement and conversion.
  • Master the Company’s Product/Service: Build a deep understanding of the features of our product/service in order to integrate it into effective copywriting.
  • Collaborate with Lead Gen and HubSpot Teams: Work closely with the Lead Gen and HubSpot teams to align copy with overall strategies and goals.
  • Optimise for Performance: Continuously test and optimise copy to improve open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates.
  • Report on Copy Performance: Synthesise copy performance data and insights into actionable recommendations for campaign optimisation and future copy strategy.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Keep up with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in copywriting and outbound and inbound sales strategies.

Primary Brand Focus:
You will primarily write copy for the Canadian Indigenous Investment Forum (CIIF), a year-round investment forum that connects Indigenous-led businesses and communities with institutional investors from the UK, Europe, and North America. Qualifications:

  • Marketing and Sales Experience: Proven understanding of marketing and sales principles and a track record of crafting copy that drives action.
  • Research Skills: Ability to conduct thorough research and synthesise information to create compelling narratives.
  • Proven Copywriting Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in copywriting or related fields.
  • Strong Writing Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Creativity: Innovative thinker with the ability to generate unique ideas and concepts.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Time Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in using analytics tools to extract and measure copy performance metrics (open rates, clickthrough rates, conversion rates, and engagement data) and search visibility.
  • Data-driven Thinking Skills: Ability to interpret, evaluate, and synthesise data findings and insights to inform strategic decisions and identify patterns that drive copy and campaign improvement.
  • Product/Service Knowledge: Ability to rapidly build a deep understanding of complex product or service features and translate technical specifications into compelling, customer-centric narratives.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to position each copy within the broader context of the full campaign strategy, the marketing funnel, and brand identity, recognising that copy does not exist in isolation.
