Content Strategist + Short-Form Video Editor (Reels/TikTok)

This is a two-part role for one person who is genuinely good at both halves:
1. Content Strategy & Trend Research. You live on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook . You know what's trending right now, you can research a brand and its competitors, and — most importantly — you can look at a trending video or format and correctly d ---------- "this one fits this brand, and here's how I'd adapt it." That judgment is the most important skill in this role.
2. Short-Form Editing. You edit Reels and TikToks that are clean and simple — not flashy or over-edited. Most of our clients are lifestyle brands who want natural, polished-but-real content. You can also build a strong reel out of an existing folder of a client's raw content while staying true to their brand.
We do NOT need extravagant, effect-heavy edits. We need taste, brand awareness, and reliable execution.
What You'll Do:
- Research trends across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook and spot what's worth jumping on
- Do brand and competitor research to understand each client's world
- Take trending formats/audios and adapt them into ideas that fit a specific brand
- Plan reels and short-form content for multiple client brands
- Edit clean, simple, lifestyle-style Reels (captions, light text, good pacing, right audio, sound fx, if needed)
- Build content from a client's existing raw footage/photo library, on-brand
- Bring ideas to the table — don't wait to be told exactly what to make
Requirements:
Must have:
- Real understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook — you use them daily and get why things go viral
- Proven ability to spot trends and adapt them to a brand (not just repost what's popular)
- Solid short-form editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, Edits, or similar) with a clean, natural style
- A portfolio of Reels/TikToks you've edited — lifestyle/clean work preferred
- Strong written English and proactive communication
- Reliable internet, self-motivated, hits deadlines without micromanagement
- Some overlap with US Eastern (EST) hours
Nice to have:
- Agency or multi-client experience
- Comfortable using AI tools thoughtfully (see the note below)
- Basic graphic/Canva skills
On AI: We want someone who knows how to use AI to work faster — but who does NOT outsource their thinking to it. We care about genuine, original judgment in the work you submit. Using AI as a tool is great; submitting generic AI output is not.
