Part-Time Virtual Bookkeeper (Experience in Xero Accounting Preferred)

About Us

We are a small restaurant business looking for a detail-oriented, trustworthy Virtual Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records. This is a long-term position for someone who takes pride in accuracy and organization.

The workload is light—only a few hours per week—but we are looking for someone who can become a reliable part of our team.

Position Details

Responsibilities

• Weekly bookkeeping in Xero
• Reconcile bank and credit card transactions
• Categorize income and expenses accurately
• Match deposits from POS and merchant accounts
• Maintain organized financial records
• Review transactions for accuracy
• Reconcile accounts weekly
• Assist with month-end bookkeeping
• Communicate any unusual transactions or discrepancies
• Maintain confidentiality of all financial information

Requirements

• Strong bookkeeping knowledge
• Experience using Xero (preferred)
• Accounting degree or bookkeeping certification is a strong plus
• Excellent understanding of debits and credits
• Bank reconciliation experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent English communication skills
• Honest, dependable, and proactive
• Restaurant bookkeeping experience is a bonus

Trial Project

The selected candidate will complete a paid trial by reconciling one week's worth of transactions before being hired permanently.

• **Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience
• **Experience with Xero
• **Experience reconciling merchant deposits (Toast, Shift4, Square, Clover, etc.)
• **Ability to reconcile sales tax accounts
• **Restaurant bookkeeping experience preferred
