About Team Simon Foundation

Team Simon Foundation is an Australian registered charity established after Simon was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.

Since 2018, the Foundation has raised and contributed towards medical research, innovative treatments and support for children and families affected by serious illnesses.

Our work includes major gala events, fundraising campaigns, medical research partnerships, community activities and sharing Simon’s journey. We want our content to tell these stories properly, build awareness and encourage more people and businesses to support our work.

About the position

We are looking for an experienced creative professional who can manage our content from the initial idea through to design, editing, publishing and scheduling.

Most of our videos will be recorded by us using an iPhone. We will send you the raw iPhone footage, photos and basic information. You will need to identify the strongest ---------- nts and turn ordinary footage into professional content that takes viewers on a story.

You must be able to work independently, contribute ideas and produce polished content without needing detailed instructions for every task.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Editing raw iPhone footage into engaging Instagram Reels, TikTok videos, Facebook videos and YouTube Shorts
  • Creating videos with a strong hook and a clear beginning, middle and end
  • Selecting the best clips and adding captions, transitions, music, graphics, sound effects and AI voiceovers where appropriate
  • Creating both short form and longer form videos for campaigns, interviews, events and research updates
  • Designing Instagram and Facebook posts, carousels, stories, promotional graphics and advertisements
  • Creating professional brochures for our gala events and fundraising campaigns
  • Designing sponsorship proposals, sponsorship decks, presentations, event programs and other marketing materials
  • Updating and improving our website, including page layouts, written content, images and campaign information
  • Managing and regularly updating our LinkedIn profile
  • Writing professional captions and adapting content for Instagram, Facebook , TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube
  • Creating and maintaining a structured content calendar
  • Scheduling and publishing posts across our social media platforms
  • Repurposing one piece of content into suitable formats for different platforms
  • Organising raw footage, photos, editable files and final content in clearly labelled folders
  • Monitoring comments, engagement and messages where required
  • Maintaining a professional and consistent Team Simon Foundation brand

Required experience

This is not an entry level position. You must have proven professional experience with:

  • Short form video editing for Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts
  • Turning raw footage into an engaging story
  • Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
  • CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro video editing software
  • AI voiceovers, automatic captions and AI assisted creative tools
  • Instagram, Facebook , TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn
  • Content planning, caption writing, scheduling and publishing
  • Brochures, presentations, proposals and sponsorship decks
  • Website design or website content management
  • Google Drive or another structured digital file management system

You must have strong written and spoken English, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to suggest creative ideas.

Working hours

This is a full time, long term position consisting of 40 paid hours per week.

The required working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Sydney time, with a one hour unpaid lunch break. Sydney changes between AEST and AEDT depending on daylight saving.

Technical requirements

You must have:

  • Your own reliable computer suitable for graphic design and video editing
  • A stable high speed internet connection
  • A backup internet connection
  • A practical backup plan for power outages
  • A reliable and professional home working environment

  • Links to social media accounts you have personally managed or created content for
  • An example of a content calendar you created or maintained
  • Examples of website design or website management work
  • A screenshot showing your current internet download and upload speeds
  • Your computer brand, model, processor, RAM and operating system
  • Details of your backup internet connection and power outage plan
  • Confirmation that you can work Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Sydney time

All examples can be existing work. We are not asking you to create new designs, videos, calendars or marketing materials for the initial application.

Candidates who progress to the next stage may be sent a small amount of raw iPhone footage and asked to create a practical editing sample. This will help us assess how you select footage, structure a story and turn basic iPhone content into a polished Reel.
