Overview
We are looking for a dedicated US Tax Preparer & Bookkeeper to support our accounting and tax operations. In this role, you will prepare individual, business, nonprofit, and state tax returns, maintain accurate financial records, and help ensure clients' books remain clean, compliant, and tax-ready throughout the year.
This position is ideal for someone who is accurate, dependable, proactive, and capable of working independently while managing multiple client engagements and meeting deadlines.

As a US Tax Preparer & Bookkeeper, you will manage tax preparation and bookkeeping responsibilities for multiple clients, maintain organized documentation, and support efficient accounting workflows. Your work will play a key role in ensuring compliance, financial accuracy, and a seamless tax preparation process for our clients.
What You'll Be Doing
Tax Preparation & Compliance
Prepare Individual Tax Returns (Form 1040) and related schedules.
Prepare Business Tax Returns, including Forms 1120, 1120S, and 1065.
Prepare Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, LLC, S Corporation, and C Corporation tax returns.
Prepare and file nonprofit tax returns, including IRS Form 990-EZ and the full IRS Form 990, while ensuring compliance with nonprofit tax regulations.
Prepare and file state and franchise tax returns in accordance with applicable state requirements.
Review financial records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and tax readiness.
Identify missing information and communicate with clients or internal tea ---------- mbers as needed.
Maintain organized digital tax workpapers and supporting documentation.
Bookkeeping & Financial Management
Perform bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online.
Categorize financial transactions accurately.
Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
Clean up and correct incomplete or inaccurate bookkeeping records when necessary.
Prepare monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss Statements and Balance Sheets.
Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure clients' books remain tax-ready throughout the year.
Data Entry & Administrative Support
Perform accurate data entry and document management.
Upload and organize client files using consistent naming conventions and folder structures.
Track assignments and meet internal deadlines.
Assist with administrative support related to accounting and tax operations.
Systems & Process Improvement
Follow established workflows, SOPs, and internal checklists.
Create or update process documentation when needed.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen internal processes, and reduce errors.
What You Bring to the Role
Proven experience preparing US Individual Income Tax Returns (Form 1040) and Business Tax Returns, including Sole Proprietorships, Partnerships, LLCs, S Corporations, and C Corporations.
Experience preparing and filing nonprofit tax returns, including IRS Form 990. Experience with both Form 990-EZ and the full Form 990 is highly preferred, along with the ability to independently prepare nonprofit filings.
Experience preparing and filing state and franchise tax returns, with an understanding of franchise tax compliance requirements in one or more US states.
Strong bookkeeping experience, including monthly bookkeeping, account reconciliations, financial record maintenance, bookkeeping cleanups, and preparation of financial statements.
Experience managing bookkeeping and tax preparation for multiple clients or businesses simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
Experience using professional US tax software such as TaxSlayer, Drake, ProSeries, UltraTax, Lacerte, TaxAct Professional, or similar platforms.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
Excellent time management with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent communication with the team.
A commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work and maintaining client confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working with a US accounting, bookkeeping, CPA, or tax preparation firm.
Experience preparing multiple nonprofit tax returns annually.
Experience handling franchise tax filings for multiple states.
Strong understanding of GAAP-based bookkeeping principles.
Experience developing or improving accounting workflows and documentation.
What You Can Expect
