About the Role

Full-Time Video Editor for Commercial Glass & Door Company

About Our Company

We are a commercial glass, door service, and emergency board-up company based in Southern California. We help businesses keep their storefronts, doors, and glass safe, secure, functional, and professional-looking.

We are building a library of training videos, client education videos, YouTube videos, and short social media videos. We want our content to be useful, clear, professional, and fun to watch.

We value honesty, open communication, good work, and respect for people’s time.

We want someone who will tell us the truth, ask questions when something is unclear, and communicate early if there is a problem with a deadline or assignment.

We do not expect perfection, especially while someone is learning. We do expect reliability, effort, attention to detail, and a willingness to receive feedback and improve.

We believe good systems make work easier for everyone, and we want to work with someone who takes pride in helping us create useful, organized, high-quality videos.

We are looking for a full-time Video Editor to help us turn raw video footage into polished, useful, and engaging videos.

You will be watching longer raw videos and pulling out the best parts to create:

  • Long-form training videos
  • Step-by-step internal training videos
  • Customer-facing educational videos
  • YouTube videos
  • YouTube Shorts
  • TikTok videos
  • Instagram Reels
  • Short promotional or informational videos

This is a full-time role. The workload may vary from week to week, but we do not expect more than 40 hours per week.

This position offers flexible hours. You may work during the hours that are best for you and your family, as long as you meet deadlines, communicate clearly, and send a daily report of what was completed.

We are located in California. At first, we will likely have short daily tea ---------- etings. Later, we expect to reduce this to a weekly tea ---------- eting. Our preferred meeting time is around 5:00 PM California time, which is usually around 8:00–9:00 AM Philippine Time depending on daylight savings.

We respect our employees’ free time. We do not expect you to work in the middle of the night. We want someone who can work normal Philippine daytime hours and manage their work responsibly.

We are looking for someone who can work independently, manage their own tasks, meet deadlines, and ask questions when something is unclear.

It is okay not to know everything right away. It is not okay to disappear, guess, or stay silent when you need clarification. We want someone who communicates clearly and is open to feedback.

This should be your primary full-time position. Please do not apply if you are trying to work multiple full-time jobs at the same time.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Reviewing raw video footage and identifying the best usable clips
  • Editing long training videos from raw footage
  • Creating short social media clips from longer videos
  • Creating customer-facing educational videos
  • Creating engaging hooks and intros
  • Adding captions, B-roll, motion text, graphics, music, and transitions
  • Cleaning up dead space and keeping the pace strong
  • Editing talking-head, tutorial, and voice-driven content
  • Creating vertical videos for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels
  • Organizing finished videos into a clear training and marketing video library
  • Creating tables of contents, chapter titles, or section notes for longer videos
  • Identifying clips from longer videos that can be reused as short-form social media content
  • Organizing video files in Google Drive
  • Managing assigned tasks in ClickUp
  • Following video templates and helping improve our editing style over time
  • Sending a daily update about what you completed, what is still in progress, and where you need help

We want you to take raw video and turn it into usable, engaging, and concise training videos.

We need more than just editing. We also need your help capturing what was taught in the video.

For training videos, you may need to provide:

  • A short outline of what was explained
  • Step-by-step process notes
  • Key points covered in the video
  • Any unclear parts that need review
  • A clean final video that makes the training easier to understand

You may use AI tools to help create outlines or summaries, but you must understand the English content well enough to check whether the outline is accurate. We need someone with strong English comprehension who can understand the video content, not just run it through AI or translation software.
Video Library and Table of Contents Responsibilities

We are also building a video library for both employee training and customer education.

You may help organize edited videos into a clear video library so our team can find and use them later.

This may include:

  • Organizing training videos by topic, service type, or process
  • Organizing customer-facing videos by topic, service, marketing purpose, and target client type, such as facility managers, business owners, property managers, and property owners, so we can better target our marketing
  • Creating chapter titles or section labels
  • Noting where important steps, examples, or explanations appear in the video
  • Identifying which clips should become short videos, training clips, or customer-facing marketing videos
  • Keeping video file names, folders, and descriptions organized
  • Helping us build a searchable library of training and marketing videos

For technical training videos, we need someone who can understand the content well enough to create a useful outline. For customer-facing videos, we need someone who can understand the message well enough to help us turn the video into clear, helpful, and interesting content.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Strong video editing skills
  • Excellent English comprehension

  • Ability to add captions, B-roll, motion text, music, and transitions
  • Ability to identify the strongest ---------- nts in raw footage and d ---------- what should become a training video, customer education video, or short social media clip
  • Good organization skills
  • Reliable computer and strong internet connection
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Willingness to ask for clarity when needed
  • Openness to feedback and revisions

  • Experience editing educational or training content
  • Experience with construction, local business, trades, home service, glass, doors, or commercial service companies

We are open to the video editing software you prefer, as long as you can create high-quality work, meet deadlines, and deliver finished videos in the formats we need.

Please tell us:

  • The top two or three editing programs you prefer to use
  • Why you prefer those programs
  • What types of videos you usually create with each program
  • Whether your portfolio samples were created using those tools
  • How you prefer to receive raw video files
  • How you prefer to send finished video files for review

Please let us know about your desired pay for this full-time salaried posion:

  • How much do you expect to be paid to start while you learn about our business and figure out the job?

We currently use or plan to use:

  • Loom for video communication
  • Google Drive for file sharing and video storage

We may add other tools later, but we are most interested in your editing skill, judgment, organization, and ability to produce strong finished videos.
To show that you read this carefully, please include "Glass Video Wizard" in the subject line when you apply.

To be considered, you must send links to video samples or a portfolio.

  • Long-form YouTube videos
  • Short-form vertical videos
  • TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts
  • Training videos
  • Educational videos
  • Business or client-facing videos
  • Videos created for other companies

Please do not apply without samples. We must be able to review your previous work.

After reviewing applicants, we will choose a small group of finalists.

Finalists may be asked to complete a paid sample project. We will send a raw video sample and ask you to create:

This sample project will be paid upon completion, whether or not you are hired.

Only selected finalists will be asked to complete the paid sample project.
