HR Manager
People & Culture Department | Full-Time | Remote
Payrate: $8 - $9 / Hour

MedVirtual is seeking an experienced HR Manager who will lead and oversee the entire People & Culture function. This role is responsible for developing HR strategy while ensuring operational excellence across employee lifecycle management, compliance, training and development, performance management, employee relations, and organizational culture.
The HR Manager will build scalable HR systems that support a growing remote workforce while leading the HR Pod to deliver exceptional employee experience and operational efficiency. This individual serves as a strategic partner to leadership while remaining hands-on in driving initiatives that improve engagement, compliance, productivity, and talent development.
This is a leadership role requiring someone who can build processes from the ground up, coach tea ---------- mbers, manage confidential employee matters, and align HR initiatives with business objectives. In addition this role is responsible for identifying training needs, designing and delivering learning programs, and supporting employee development initiatives to improve individual performance and organizational effectiveness. The role collaborates with department managers to ensure employees have the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to achieve business objectives.

HR Leadership & Strategy

Lead the entire HR Pod and provide coaching, direction, and performance management to HR tea ---------- mbers.
Develop and execute the People & Culture roadmap aligned with company goals.
Establish department KPIs, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Build scalable HR processes and SOPs that support organizational growth.
Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and talent strategy.
Manage departmental priorities, resource allocation, and project execution.

HR Operations & Compliance
Oversee all HR operations to ensure consistency, compliance, and service excellence.
Ensure compliance with Philippine labor laws, internal policies, HIPAA requirements, and client contractual obligations.
Review and approve HR documentation including disciplinary actions, employment changes, investigations, and terminations.
Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records, compliance documents, and HR systems.
Lead policy creation, implementation, and annual policy reviews.

Employee Relations
Serve as the primary escalation point for employee concerns, grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
Conduct investigations involving employee misconduct or policy violations.
Lead administrative hearings and disciplinary proceedings.
Coach managers on employee performance conversations and documentation.
Foster a positive employee experience while maintaining organizational standards.

Core Requirements — Non-Negotiable

HR Leadership
3+ years of progressive HR experience.
At least 2 years in an HR leadership or managerial role.
Experience building HR departments, processes, or systems.
Strong understanding of the complete employee lifecycle.
Experience handling employee relations, disciplinary processes, and investigations.
Experience drafting HR policies and SOPs.
Understanding of HR compliance and employment documentation.
Demonstrated experience managing and developing HR professionals.
Excellent coaching and mentoring skills.
Strong decision-making and conflict-resolution abilities.
Ability to influence leaders across departments.

Admin & Systems
Highly organized — able to manage multiple concurrent processes without losing detail
Strong proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Calendar)
Experience with ATS, HRIS or CRM tools (HubSpot experience a strong plus)
Ability to leverage AI and automation for HR process improvement and operational efficiency.
Comfortable working with productivity tracking tools (Hubstaff or equivalent)
Ability to build and maintain trackers, logs, and databases with accuracy
Strong written and verbal English communication — clear, professional, and concise

Training & Development Skills — Required
Experience designing organization-wide learning initiatives.
Leadership development experience preferred.
Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
Experience building competency frameworks.
Ability to evaluate learning effectiveness using measurable outcomes.
