Creative Operations Manager - E-commerce
Curated from source
Want to run a creative department end to end? Join us as our Creative Operations Manager and take full ownership of the team, the dashboard, and the output of a fast-growing e-commerce brand.
We’re a fast-growing e-commerce company hiring a Creative Operations Manager to run our creative department, including video editors, graphic designers, and copywriters.
You are not here to make the creative. You are here to make the creative machine run: capacity, output, deadlines, systems, and people.
This is a leadership role. You will be trusted to own outcomes, not micromanaged on tasks. If you prefer a task-only execution role, this is not for you.
This role lives in the numbers. You’ll own our creative dashboard entirely, and at any ---------- nt, you’ll know who has room for more work, who is overloaded, and what is at risk of slipping before anyone asks.
You don’t manage from a distance. You catch problems early, confront underperformance directly, and make difficult people decisions with confidence.
Full ownership is the goal. This role is measured by one thing: how efficiently you scale creative output without sacrificing quality.
What You’ll Own
The Dashboard and Capacity Planning
- Own the creative operations dashboard, including capacity, utilization, deadlines, and workload.
- Track output per editor and per project. Spot bottlenecks before they affect production.
- Forecast production and hiring needs weekly and monthly.
- Bring leadership data-backed recommendations, not opinions.
- When a number drops, find the leak and put a fix in place.
The Team
- Directly manage the video editing team, with copywriters and other creative tea ---------- mbers in scope when needed.
- Run interviews and assess talent effectively. Hiring is a core part of this role.
- Run one-on-ones and performance reviews.
- Hold people accountable. When someone underperforms, identify the problem, set a clear improvement plan with a deadline, and make the final call if they do not meet expectations.
Process, Systems, and AI
- Audit and rebuild outdated workflows and SOPs across the creative pipeline.
- Ensure every project has an owner, a deadline, and a clear status.
- Use AI daily to multiply output through SOP creation, data analysis, automation, reporting, and forecasting.
- Grow production capacity without automatically growing headcount.
- Work confidently with spreadsheets and automation tools.
- Keep individual contributors, managers, and leadership aligned so production never stops.
Before You Apply
We want to be transparent and respectful of everyone’s time.
This is a senior management position, not an assistant, coordinator, specialist, or first-time leadership role. To be considered, you must have at least three years of direct experience in both e-commerce and operations management, including experience working specifically as an Operations Manager or in a genuinely equivalent management position.
Experience as an assistant, team lead, project coordinator, or individual contributor will not meet the requirements for this role unless you also have the required Operations Manager experience.
Applications that do not clearly demonstrate at least three years of relevant e-commerce operations management experience will be automatically disqualified. Please apply only if your background matches this requirement.
Must-Haves
- At least three years of direct experience as an Operations Manager or in an equivalent management role within e-commerce.
- Experience managing teams, ideally creative, production, or operational teams.
- Highly analytical and obsessed with numbers. Capacity planning, utilization, and performance metrics are your comfort zone.
- A direct communicator who does not avoid conflict. You address problems head-on and do not let issues sit.
- Comfortable making difficult people decisions, including terminations, with proven experience doing so.
- Proven experience running structured interviews and making hiring decisions.
- Strong data skills. You are highly capable with spreadsheets and understand when to use a median instead of an average.
- Technical enough to work with automation tools, scripts, and developers, and able to learn new software quickly.
- Heavy, hands-on use of AI in daily operations work. You can clearly explain which tools you use, how you use them, and why.
- Extremely organized and process-oriented. Nothing sits, nothing waits, and you always know who is stuck and what is blocking them.
- Strong written and spoken English. You will run meetings, hold people accountable, and write SOPs.
- Daily availability from 1 PM to 10 PM Manila time, GMT+8, with reasonable availability when urgent issues arise.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience managing video editors, designers, copywriters, or other creative production teams at scale.
- Experience building or owning a capacity, utilization, or KPI dashboard.
- Strong experience with ClickUp, Notion, Airtable, ---------- , or similar tools.
- Experience building AI workflows or automations.
- A basic understanding of video production workflows. You do not need to edit, but you need to understand what “done” and “good” look like.

One final note before you apply: this is a senior Operations Manager role. You must have at least three years of direct experience in both e-commerce and operations management.
