About the Role

I am a video producer/editor starting a small media production company based in Kentucky, USA. I am looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Assistant Video Editor to join my team part-time. We want someone who has mastered the technical fundamentals of editing (file management, syncing multi-cam, culling, and pacing) and is eager to be trained and shaped into our specific creative style. We love beautiful cinematic visuals and great storytelling!

This position starts part-time (10–15 hours per week) with the goal of growing your hours, responsibilities, and pay as you master our style and our production volume scales.

We work on wedding films, real estate videos, as well as marketing content, so this is an a great opportunity to grow your skills while working on a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities (What You'll Do):

Media Management & Ingest: Download raw footage, organize project panels, create proxies, and mirror our standardized folder structures.

The Assembly Cut: Cull through raw footage, sync multi-cam angles and external audio, and cut out dead air to build a tight, engaging rough story assembly.

Rough Polishing: Place baseline B-roll according to project briefs, apply color correction, and execute rough audio leveling.

Photo Editing: Light touch ups for real estate projects and creating thumbnail images from video.

Workflow Tracking: Keep your progress updated in real-time on our ClickUp dashboard.

Note: You build the foundation. I will typically handle the final creative styling, advanced color grading, and final audio mastering. As you adapt to our style guidelines you will be able to take on more responsibilities.

Requirements (Who You Are):

Technical Fluency: Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro with current access to the most up to date version. You must thoroughly understand project organization, keyboard shortcuts, and proxy workflows.

Coachability: You have a clean, solid portfolio, but you have no ego. You welcome constructive feedback and enjoy tweaking your work to match a specific brand's style. We take pride in the quality of our work.

System-Oriented: You are highly organized, pay strict attention to small technical details, and are comfortable tracking tasks inside ClickUp.

Hardware Setup: A reliable editing computer, a stable high-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps), and a power backup solution.

Compensation & Hours:

Hours: 10–15 hours per week to start (Flexible scheduling)

Rate: $5.00 USD per hour.

Growth: Performance-based increases in both hours and hourly rate as you take on more advanced editing tasks
