About the Role

Gratitude Plus is a consumer mobile app and the leading Social Gratitude Journaling App, with more than 1 million users across 170 countries and a 4.9-star App Store rating.

We are looking for a performance-focused video editor to create short-form ads for Meta and TikTok.

You will work directly with our founders to turn raw creator footage, scripts, app recordings, and visual concepts into ads that capture attention, hold interest, and drive app installs.

This role is best suited for an editor who understands that an effective paid ad is not always the most polished video. It is the video that communicates an idea clearly, connects with the intended audience, and produces results.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Edit short-form paid social ads, typically 15 to 60 seconds long
  • Turn scripts and raw UGC footage into clear, engaging ads
  • Create variations by testing different hooks, captions, calls to action, pacing, and visual treatments
  • Develop faceless and graphics-led concepts using app footage, text, motion graphics, notifications, stock footage, and other visual assets
  • Bring rough creative ideas or reference ads to life, even when there is no traditional creator footage
  • Review feedback and advertising results, then apply those learnings to future edits
  • Suggest improvements to hooks, structure, and visual execution
  • Use AI tools to improve the speed and quality of editing, asset creation, and ideation

OUR CREATIVE APPROACH

We have tested hundreds of ads and developed repeatable formats that work for our product and audience.

You will receive scripts, creative briefs, raw footage, reference ads, brand assets, and feedback from previous tests. Some assignments will be clearly mapped out. Others will begin as rough ideas that require you to determine the best visual execution.

We are looking for someone who can follow a detailed brief while also thinking independently.

Strong performance editors understand pacing, storytelling, retention, and viewer behavior. They can identify where an ad is losing ---------- ntum and make practical editing decisions that improve the final result.

TYPES OF CONTENT YOU WILL EDIT

  • UGC creator ads
  • Founder-led ads
  • Customer stories and testimonials
  • App demonstrations and screen recordings
  • Faceless storytelling ads
  • Motion graphics and text-led ads
  • Lock screen notification concepts
  • Variations of existing winning ads

Most projects will combine UGC, app footage, captions, graphics, and supporting visual assets.

Advanced motion design is helpful but not required. You should be comfortable creating clean motion graphics and turning a faceless concept into a complete ad.

EXPECTED WORKLOAD

This is a long-term, full-time independent contractor engagement.

You can expect approximately:

  • 25 concepts or content batches per month
  • About five batches per week
  • Four to five variations per concept
  • Around 100 completed video variations per month

The variations within each batch are usually small adjustments rather than entirely separate edits. For example, one concept may use four different opening hooks while keeping the remainder of the video the same.

Each batch should generally be completed within a few days of receiving the footage, assets, and creative brief.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience editing short-form social content
  • A portfolio that includes UGC, paid social, direct-response, or faceless ads
  • Strong instincts for hooks, pacing, captions, and retention
  • Experience creating graphics-led or faceless videos
  • Proficiency with modern AI tools and the ability to use them in your workflow
  • Ability to manage consistent weekly output while maintaining quality
  • Comfort receiving direct feedback and completing revisions
  • Strong communication, organization, and reliability
  • Ability to meet recurring deadlines without close supervision

Experience with consumer mobile apps, Meta ads, TikTok ads, or motion graphics is a plus.

COMPENSATION AND PERFORMANCE BONUSES

Monthly compensation is $800 to $1,100 USD, depending on experience, editing ability, and overall fit.

Compensation will be paid at the end of each month.

You will also receive a $50 performance bonus for every individual video that reaches a predefined advertising spend threshold.

The spend threshold and bonus tracking process will be explained before the ongoing engagement begins.

PAID TRIAL

We will begin with a paid trial consisting of three content batches.

Each batch will include one advertising concept with approximately four to five variations, for around 15 total videos.

Trial compensation is $50 per batch, for a total of $150 USD.

All three batches should be completed within one week. You can expect one to two rounds of feedback and revisions as we become familiar with each other’s working styles.

Following a successful trial, the engagement will transition into consistent monthly work.

SCHEDULE AND WORKING HOURS

You may complete the work during normal Philippine working hours.

You are not required to work US hours or remain online during the US workday. Communication, briefs, and feedback will primarily be asynchronous.

You will be responsible for managing your own working schedule, communicating consistently, and meeting agreed-upon deadlines.

HOW TO APPLY

Please include:

1. A short introduction explaining your editing experience
2. A link to your portfolio
3. Two or three examples of paid social, UGC, or faceless ads you edited
