Who are Hannan Tew?

We are a boutique, NewLaw Australian immigration law firm focusing on delivering client-centric immigration solutions. We work across all areas, of Australian immigration, and represent clients from asylum seekers to global organisations. The firm is staffed by passionate immigration professionals (including an Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law) with extensive experience in global law firms and a drive to "beat yesterday". We love innovation and thrive on adapting to change. Over the last 8 years we've focused on constantly improving and evolving our systems to ensure our clients have access to the best in market immigration service. We're a small team (10 lawyers + 6 admin staff) but have been steadily growing off the back of a commitment to immigration excellence and love for technology.

Opportunity

We’re looking for a highly motivated, fantastic communicator to assist with the administrative aspects of our firm. You will report to our Practice Manager, who is based at our head office in Melbourne. We are offering an initial 6-month contract with the potential to transition into a full-time position, and we are seeking a candidate who is genuinely interested in long-term opportunities with our team.

What you can expect to work on

  • assist with the drafting of basic forms using templates (including visa application forms)
  • ensuring electronic files are updated via our internal systems to track matters / assist with document collection from our clients
  • drafting email s, letters, forms and cost agreements using templates
  • assist with phone / email enquiries as required
  • other adhoc duties as required

What we’re looking for

  • bachelor qualifications or higher is looked at favourably
  • experience within a professional services environment is preferred
  • excellent written / verbal communication skills – we value plain English law which means clear and prompt communication from start to finish
  • highly detail-oriented with excellent time management and organisational abilities
  • an ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
  • strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • a knowledge of basic legal software and an ability to adapt to our technology stack (CRM, databases, file management)
  • strict compliance with cybersecurity controls
  • an ability to mesh with a supportive and highly driven team culture
  • a strong sense of ethics and interest in the immigration space
  • access to stable, high speed internet
