Job Title: Business Development Coordinator / Lead Research Specialist

Company: ByShameel

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full-Time

About ByShameel:
ByShameel is a garment research and fashion product development studio working with culture-led brands across fashion, streetwear, gymwear, athlete/influencer brands, artist merchandise, lifestyle, sports, and e-commerce.

The studio helps brands develop stronger products through product direction, apparel design, technical documentation, material direction, and development clarity.

ByShameel works with brands that already have motion - audience, sales, cultural relevance, upcoming launches, or product development needs - and helps turn unclear product ideas into stronger, more defined product systems.

About the Role:
ByShameel is looking for a Business Development Coordinator / Lead Research Specialist to support lead research, CRM organization, and pipeline development.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, strong at online research, and interested in fashion, e-commerce, streetwear, creator brands, and culture-led businesses.

The: Business Development Coordinator / Lead Research Specialist will help identify potential client opportunities, research brands and decision makers, organize lead information, track business signals, and support outreach preparation.

This is a research and coordination role designed to support business development. It is not a sales closing role.

Why This Role Matters:
ByShameel is building a more consistent business development system around a growing studio.

This role will help create structure around the pipeline by identifying qualified brand opportunities, organizing lead information, tracking follow-ups, and helping ensure the studio is consistently aware of strong potential clients.

The right person will help turn research into organized business opportunities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Research potential client leads across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, websites, Shopify stores, Google, and other online sources
  • Identify fashion, streetwear, gymwear, artist merchandise, athlete/influencer, lifestyle, sports-led, and e-commerce brands that may be a strong fit for ByShameel
  • Find relevant decision makers such as founders, creative directors, product leads, brand managers, artist managers, or agency contacts
  • Identify useful business signals such as upcoming product drops, new launches, sample development, founder growth activity, hiring activity, strong audience growth, or product-development needs
  • Maintain and update lead information inside a CRM or spreadsheet
  • Organize lead details including brand name, website, social links, contact information, segment, status, notes, and next steps
  • Help evaluate whether a lead is relevant based on brand fit, timing, audience, product opportunity, and business signals
  • Support outreach preparation by suggesting relevant context or angles for potential conversations
  • Track follow-up dates and help keep the business development pipeline organized
  • Prepare weekly lead research summaries and pipeline updates

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of experience in lead research, business development support, sales support, market research, CRM management, sales operations, or a related role
  • Proven experience researching and qualifying leads, not just collecting contact information
  • Strong online research skills across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Google, websites, and e-commerce stores
  • Strong written English and ability to summarize research clearly
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
  • Comfortable using Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable, HubSpot, or similar CRM/spreadsheet tools
  • Ability to identify relevant business signals such as launches, product drops, hiring activity, founder growth posts, audience traction, or product-development needs
  • Ability to research and organize decision makers such as founders, creative directors, product leads, brand managers, artist managers, or agency contacts
  • Comfortable working independently and managing recurring weekly tasks
  • Strong time management and ability to provide clear updates
  • Interest in fashion, streetwear, gymwear, e-commerce, creator brands, artist merchandise, lifestyle brands, or culture-led businesses

Preferred Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in lead generation, business development support, market research, CRM management, sales operations, or virtual assistance
  • Experience supporting founders, agencies, creative businesses, e-commerce companies, or service-based studios
  • Experience researching fashion, apparel, streetwear, gymwear, e-commerce, DTC, creator, artist, or lifestyle brands
  • Experience preparing qualified lead lists, prospect notes, pipeline reports, or weekly research summaries
  • Experience using CRM tools or structured lead tracking systems
  • Familiarity with Shopify stores, Instagram brand research, TikTok research, LinkedIn prospecting, and founder/contact research
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar tools for research, summarization, organization, and workflow support

Tools & Work Style:
This role may involve using tools such as Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable, HubSpot, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Shopify stores, Google Search, and AI-assisted research tools.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, asking clear questions when needed, and turning online research into organized, useful information.

We are looking for someone who can think critically, spot patterns, and understand why a lead may be relevant — not just gather names and links.

Role Details:

  • Full-Time
  • Remote
  • 40 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule
  • Opportunity for ongoing work as the role develops

How to Apply:
Please submit your resume, a short cover letter, and a 1–2 minute video introduction (Google Drive, Dropbox and etc is fine)

In your application, briefly mention your experience with lead research, CRM management, market research, or business development support, along with any tools you have used and industries you have researched.

Please start your cover letter application with the word “FASHION” so we know you read the full job posting.
