Commercial Furniture Specifier

We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Furniture Specifier / Production Designer to support commercial, healthcare, education, workplace, and government furniture projects.

This position focuses on product research, furniture specification, Bills of Materials (BOMs), furniture schedules, typicals, and technical documentation. You will work closely with our project managers and design team to produce accurate furniture specifications and supporting documentation.

Training will be provided for our internal processes.

Responsibilities
Research commercial furniture products and manufacturers
Develop furniture specifications, model numbers, and configurations
Create and update Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Prepare furniture schedules and typicals
Verify dimensions, finishes, accessories, and product compatibility
Review drawings and project requirements
Assist with product substitutions and technical research
Gather manufacturer cut sheets and technical documentation
Coordinate with manufacturers and vendor representatives
Update project documentation and maintain organized project files
Review your work for completeness and accuracy before submission
Requirements
Experience with commercial furniture, FF&E, interior design, architecture, or workplace design
Experience reading furniture plans and technical drawings
AutoCAD experience required
CET Designer or CAP Studio experience preferred
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong written English
Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with commercial furniture dealerships or manufacturers
Familiarity with systems furniture and ancillary furniture
Experience with manufacturers such as Teknion, Kimball, Haworth, Steelcase, Herman Miller, Fellowes, SitOnIt, HON, Friant, or similar
Experience supporting government or healthcare furniture projects
