We are seeking an Australian Commercial Solar Admin Specialist with hands-on experience in Australian commercial solar projects (30 kW and above).
This role focuses on post-sale administration, approvals, compliance, and documentation for commercial solar and solar + battery projects. Once onboarded, you will be trusted to manage jobs independently within defined processes.
This role is not suitable for general VAs or candidates without direct Australian solar experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Commercial Solar Administration
- Manage DNSP grid connection applications for commercial solar systems (30 kW+)
- Prepare and submit pre-approval applications
- Respond to DNSP technical queries and requests for additional information
- Manage export limits, zero-export requirements, and protection conditions
- Upload and manage documentation across DNSP portals
2. Solar + Battery Projects
- Support commercial battery approvals and documentation
- Ensure batteries are included correctly in DNSP approvals and SLDs
- Manage commissioning evidence and compliance documentation
- Coordinate with installers to resolve approval or documentation gaps
3. Compliance & Documentation
Review and manage:
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- CEC-compliant documentation
- Installer and designer accreditation evidence
- Commissioning photos and reports
Prepare STC documentation for commercial systems
Package compliance folders for audit readiness
Coordination & Communication
Liaise with:
- Australian installers and electricians
- STC traders
- Retailers and DNSPs (via email and portals)
Track job status, approvals, and outstanding actions
Flag risks, delays, or compliance issues early and escalate appropriately
Required Experience (Non-Negotiable)
Candidates must have:
- Direct experience working with Australian solar companies
- Experience supporting commercial solar systems (30 kW+)
- Hands-on experience with at least one of the following:
- Grid connection applications
- STCs for commercial solar
- Australian DNSP portals
A solid understanding of:
- Export limits and DNSP pre-approval requirements
- Solar + battery integration fundamentals
- Clean Energy Council (CEC) compliance frameworks
Essential:
Victorian solar experience, including exposure to Victorian DNSPs such as:
- Powercor
- AusNet
- Jemena
- United Energy
- Experience across multiple Australian states (VIC, NSW, QLD)
- Experience managing commercial metering coordination
- Familiarity with CRMs such as Pylon, OpenSolar, ServiceM8, or similar
- Experience supporting mid-to-high volume solar installers
