About the Role

I’m a creative entrepreneur building several connected projects, including a personalized gifting business, a corporate gifting service, and a local newsletter.

I’m looking for a resourceful, creative person who can help turn early-stage ideas into clear, practical and actionable projects.

This is not a traditional virtual assistant role where you simply wait for detailed instructions. You will often be given a goal, idea or problem and expected to research it, think through it and help move it forward.

THE IDEAL PERSON

You are someone who:

  • Has built, launched, or meaningfully contributed to something before
  • Is a strong researcher and can find useful, reliable information
  • Can turn research into recommendations and next steps
  • Enjoys developing ideas but can also organize and execute them
  • Is comfortable working with incomplete instructions
  • Naturally looks for solutions and takes initiative
  • Communicates clearly and follows through
  • Uses AI and digital tools thoughtfully, without relying on generic output

What you have built does not need to be a large business. It could be a product, event, website, newsletter, campaign, community, system or personal project.

WHAT YOU MAY WORK ON:

  • Research businesses, industries, suppliers, products and opportunities
  • Identify potential corporate gifting clients and recommend what to offer them
  • Research stories, events and ideas for a local newsletter
  • Help turn rough ideas into campaigns, offers, products or project plans
  • Create clear research summaries, presentations, mood boards or Canva materials
  • Organize projects, track next steps and follow up on outstanding tasks
  • Help prepare briefs for designers, writers or other collaborators
  • Handle occasional administrative and founder-support tasks

THIS ROLE MAY NOT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU:

  • Need detailed step-by-step instructions for every task
  • Prefer only repetitive administrative work
  • Generate ideas but struggle to finish projects
  • Send research without explaining what it means or what should happen next
  • Wait for permission before taking reasonable next steps

HELPFUL SKILLS

  • Online and market research
  • Writing and summarizing information
  • Creative thinking and concept development
  • Project coordination
  • Product or supplier sourcing
  • Notion, Trello, ClickUp or similar tools
  • AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity

Strong written English and clear communication are required.
