Communication Coach/Trainer
Curated from source
We're a US bookkeeping firm with ~1,000 small business clients and a talented team in the Philippines. Our bookkeepers are excellent at the numbers. Your job is to make them just as excellent in the conversation — confident on calls, sharp in meetings, and trusted by American business owners.
This is not a classroom English teacher role. You'll be a hands-on coach who meets with our staff every day and is accountable for one outcome: our clients hanging up the phone thinking, "I'm in good hands."
What you'll do
- Run daily coaching sessions (1-on-1 and small group) with our bookkeeping and support staff
- Train the team to lead meetings: set an agenda, drive it, close with clear next steps
- Build confident speaking skills — tone, pace, directness, and killing filler words
- Teach staff how to inspire confidence: owning answers, delivering bad news well, and saying "I'll find out and get back to you by Friday" instead of freezing
- Eliminate awkward silence — train recovery phrases, transitions, and conversation control
- Sharpen practical business English for client-facing work: email s, calls, and video meetings with US clients
- Create accountability: sit in on real client conversations, score them against a rubric, give same-day feedback, and track each person's improvement over time
- Report progress to leadership: who's improving, who's stuck, and what you're doing about it
What success looks like
Within 90 days, every client-facing tea ---------- mber can run a 20-minute client meeting solo — no scripts, no dead air, no "sorry, can you repeat the question" — and our client feedback shows it.
You're a fit if you
- Have coached, trained, or managed customer-facing teams (BPO training, corporate communication coaching, ESL for business professionals, or similar)
- Speak neutral, fluent English and can model exactly what you teach
- Are direct with feedback but make people feel bigger, not smaller
- Can build simple systems: rubrics, drills, progress trackers — not just "sessions"
- Are comfortable listening to real client calls and coaching from them
- Can work hours that overlap with our US team and the Philippine team's schedule
Nice to have
- Background in accounting, bookkeeping, or professional services
- Experience with US small business culture and how American clients communicate
What we offer
- Full-time, long-term remote role with a growing US firm
- Competitive monthly salary (based on experience) + performance incentives
- A team that already wants to improve — you're not selling this, you're delivering it
- Direct line to the owner; your results will be visible
