About the Role

Virtual Registered Nurse (Philippines) – Family Medicine Clinic (U.S.)

Position: Part-Time Virtual Registered Nurse (Remote)
Location: Philippines (Remote)
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week during U.S. Mountain Time business hours, with the opportunity to transition to a full-time (40 hours/week) position as our clinic continues to grow.

We are looking for a dependable, organized, and proactive Registered Nurse in the Philippines who wants to become a long-ter ---------- mber of our team.

This is a long-term opportunity. We are intentionally starting at approximately 20 hours per week so both you and our clinic have time to build a successful working relationship. As patient volume continues to grow, we anticipate expanding this position to full-time (40 hours/week) for the right candidate.

Primary Responsibilities

Patient Care Coordination

Patient check-in and check-out coordination
Manage patient portal messages
Process medication refill requests according to clinic protocols
Coordinate referrals and specialist appointments
Follow up on laboratory and imaging results as directed by the provider
Coordinate with pharmacies regarding prescriptions and refill requests
Review and organize incoming medical records
Assist with care coordination for hospital discharges and transferred patients
Document all patient interactions accurately within the EMR
Maintain strict HIPAA compliance in every patient interaction

Clinical Support

Triage patient phone calls and portal messages using established clinical protocols and nursing judgment
Escalate urgent concerns to the provider when appropriate
Prepare patient charts prior to appointments
Ensure laboratory reports, imaging, and outside medical records are available before patient visits
Assist with preventive care reminders and chronic disease follow-up programs
Monitor outstanding patient tasks and ensure timely follow-up

Administrative Support

Verify patient insurance information
Assist with prior authorizations when needed
Upload and organize patient documents
Maintain organized digital medical records
Help manage provider schedules
Track referrals through completion
Maintain spreadsheets and internal tracking logs
Organize clinic documents and digital files
Assist with quality improvement and population health initiatives
Complete additional administrative duties that support clinic operations

Communication & Patient Experience

Professionally answer incoming phone calls
Return patient phone calls in a timely manner
Respond to patient portal messages promptly
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments
Send appointment reminders
Follow up with missed appointments (no-shows)
Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism and empathy
Communicate clearly with patients, providers, pharmacies, specialists, and insurance companies

Qualifications

Required

Active Philippine Registered Nurse (RN) license
Excellent written and spoken English
Strong computer and technology skills
Reliable high-speed internet connection
Quiet and professional home office
Ability to work during U.S. Mountain Time business hours
Excellent organizational skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Professional phone etiquette
Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with the team

Preferred

Previous experience as a Virtual RN or Remote Medical Assistant
Experience working with U.S. healthcare providers
Experience with Elation EMR
Experience with eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Kareo/Tebra, or other U.S. electronic medical record systems
Knowledge of U.S. insurance verification and prior authorization processes
Familiarity with HIPAA requirements
Family medicine or primary care experience
