Remote Virtual Assistant (Must Be Sharp, Independent & Reliable)
Curated from source
I'm looking for a highly capable, sharp, and dependable Virtual Assistant to work directly with me. I've worked with many VAs over the years — the ones who stand out aren't the ones who just "complete tasks." They're the ones who think, take ownership, catch problems before I have to point them out, and figure things out instead of asking me to explain everything twice.
This is not a role for someone who needs constant hand-holding or does the bare minimum. I need someone I can hand a vague or complex task to and trust that they'll ask smart questions, figure out the best way to approach it, and deliver something I'm actually happy with — without me micromanaging every step.
This role starts part-time, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time position as trust and responsibilities increase.
What You'll Be Doing
Tasks will vary and expand over time, but may include:
Calendar and email management
Research and data gathering
Document creation and organization
Task and project coordination
Basic reporting and follow-ups
Ad hoc problem-solving on whatever comes up
Who I'm Looking For
Sharp and resourceful — you figure things out instead of getting stuck or waiting to be told exactly what to do
Strong work ethic — you follow through, meet deadlines, and don't need to be chased
Ownership mentality — if something's wrong or incomplete, you flag it and fix it, not wait for me to notice
Clear communicator — you update me proactively, ask good questions, and don't disappear when something's unclear
Fast learner — you pick things up quickly and don't need the same thing explained multiple times
No excuses mindset — if something goes wrong, you own it, explain what happened, and tell me how you'll fix it
Good personality — easy to work with, positive, low-drama
Who This Is NOT For
People who do the minimum required and stop there
People who need step-by-step instructions for every task
People who make excuses instead of solving problems
People who are slow to respond or hard to reach
To Apply
Please submit everything below in one application — video and questionnaire together. Incomplete applications, or ones that skip parts, will not be considered. Attention to detail matters for this role, and this is the first test of it.
HOW TO APPLY
Part A — Video (record on your phone, no editing needed)
This video is your first work sample. I'm evaluating how you think and communicate, not just what you say. Cover all four points in one video:
Intro — Your name, your VA/admin experience, and one specific example of a time you went above and beyond for a client or employer (not just what you did, but why you did it and what the result was).
Process — Walk me through how you'd handle this: I give you a task with incomplete instructions — I'm busy and didn't explain everything clearly. What do you do before, during, and after completing it?
Scenario — Respond as if speaking directly to me:
"I just realized I missed a deadline for a task you needed today. How would you handle telling me this, and what would you do next?"
Judgment check — Briefly answer: If I gave you a task you'd never done before and no instructions, what are the first three things you'd do?
Upload via Loom or a public Google Drive folder, and include the link in your response (must be a URL).
Part B — Questionnaire
Basic Information
Full Name
Country of Residence
Email Address
Resume Link (must be URL link)
Availability & Compensation
5. Are you currently employed? If yes, in what capacity (full-time, part-time, freelance)?
6. To confirm clearly: if I start you part-time now and later offer to move you to full-time, are you willing to make that transition? Please answer directly (yes/no) and briefly explain.
7. How many hours per week are you available to start?
8. What is your current/most recent monthly rate or salary?
9. What is your expected monthly rate for this role?
Experience
10. Start your reply with the word "responsible" so that I know you read this job post
11. How many years of experience do you have as a VA or in admin/ops support?
12. Briefly describe your experience — what tools, tasks, and types of clients/employers you've worked with.
13. Tell me about the most complex or high-pressure task you've handled as a VA. What made it hard, and how did you handle it?
14. Describe a time you caught a mistake or problem before anyone asked you to look into it. What did you do?
