We're looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper / Finance Officer to support the day-to-day financial operations across multiple Australian business entities.

This is not an entry-level position.

We're seeking someone who already has strong Australian bookkeeping experience and can confidently manage finance responsibilities with minimal supervision. This role is designed for a senior finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, improving systems, and contributing beyond traditional bookkeeping.

About the Role
As our Senior Bookkeeper / Finance Officer, you'll play an important role in supporting the finance operations across multiple Australian businesses.

This position combines hands-on bookkeeping with broader finance administration responsibilities, including fund transfers, loan management, Div. 7A administration, treasury support, compliance activities, and continuous process improvement.

As you become familiar with the business, you'll also have opportunities to contribute to finance projects, automation initiatives, and operational improvements that help the business scale efficiently.

Target Candidate
We're looking for someone who has:

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant bookkeeping and finance experience.
  • CPA qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong experience supporting Australian businesses.
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian bookkeeping and accounting practices.
  • Strong experience using Xero.
  • Experience working across multiple entities or complex business structures.
  • Excellent reconciliation skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to take ownership and make informed decisions.
  • Interest in technology, automation, AI tools, and continuous process improvement.

Nature of the Role

  • 40% – Bookkeeping
  • Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring all bookkeeping activities are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero.
  • Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Perform bank, credit card, loan, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Complete month-end processing and reconciliations.
  • Assist with BAS preparation and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare reconciliation schedules and ensure records remain audit-ready.

  • 40% – Finance Administration
  • Support the day-to-day finance function across multiple entities by ensuring financial transactions and records are accurate, - organized, and compliant.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Prepare Director's Declarations (DD) and finance documentation.
  • Manage intercompany loans and related transactions.
  • Initiate and monitor bank payments and fund transfers.
  • Assist with Div. 7A administration and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain loan registers, finance trackers, and internal records.
  • Support treasury and cash management activities.
  • Coordinate with accountants, auditors, and management as required.

  • 20% – Finance Operations & Process Improvement
  • As you become familiar with our business, you'll have opportunities to contribute beyond day-to-day finance administration.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Monitor Accounts Receivable (AR), including lease payments and outstanding balances.
  • Support finance-related projects and operational initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and workflows.
  • Assist with automation initiatives using AI and other technology solutions.
  • Help optimize finance systems, documentation, and internal procedures.
  • Recommend practical improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
