SEO Specialist — Local SEO, On-Page SEO & Review Generation

Exponential Oaks is a web development and design agency with digital marketing integrations based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, serving home service contractors — HVAC, plumbing, electricians, and home remodeling companies. We build custom websites and run their marketing, and SEO is the backbone that makes both work together.

About the Role
We're hiring an SEO Specialist to own every SEO-related deliverable across our retainer tiers and web builds — from Google Business Profile management on our smallest accounts to technical SEO on custom-built sites with dynamic quote forms. You'll also own review generation and management, since strong SEO and strong review velocity go hand in hand.

What You'll Do
Local SEO (all retainer tiers):

Google Business Profile setup, optimization, and ongoing management
Local citation building and NAP consistency across directories
Local keyword research specific to each client's service area and trade
Automated review generation setup (post-job request flows) and review response management

On-page & technical SEO (web builds):

On-page optimization for new Starter, Growth, and Signature Build sites (title tags, meta descriptions, header structure, internal linking)
Technical SEO audits — site speed, mobile usability, schema markup, crawlability — especially on custom Supabase-backed builds where standard SEO plugins don't apply
Ensure new landing pages (service pages, location pages, seasonal pages) are built SEO-first from day one, not retrofitted after launch

Ongoing (Growth & Partner retainer tiers):

Monthly SEO reporting tied to actual ranking and lead volume, not just vanity metrics
Content recommendations for blog/service pages that support the local SEO strategy
Competitor gap analysis within each client's specific trade and county

Platforms & Tools You Should Know
SEO research & tracking:

Google Search Console and Google Analytics (required)
Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Moz (at least one required for keyword research and rank tracking)
Screaming Frog for technical/crawl audits

Local SEO & citations:

Google Business Profile Manager (required)
BrightLocal or Whitespark for citation building and rank tracking
Yext or similar for listing management (nice to have)

Review generation & reputation:

Experience with a review automation platform (e.g., Podium, NiceJob, Birdeye, or similar) — tool flexibility is fine, but you should understand the workflow

Technical/schema:

Schema markup implementation (LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ schema) — via Google's Structured Data tools or similar
Basic familiarity with PageSpeed Insights / Core Web Vitals

Reporting:

Comfortable building clear client-facing reports in Google Sheets, Looker Studio, or a similar dashboard tool

What We're Looking For

Proven experience with local SEO for small businesses — please include examples of ranking improvements or GBP profiles you've managed, with before/after data
Understanding of technical SEO fundamentals — you don't need to code, but you need to know what to ask a developer for
Home services or local trades experience strongly preferred — the keyword and content strategy here is different from e-commerce or national SEO
Strong written English for reporting and content recommendations
Comfortable managing SEO across multiple client accounts simultaneously (agency experience preferred)
