Part-Time Bookkeeping VA – QuickBooks, PO Entry, Receipts & Invoicing

Company: OpSec Consulting
Location: Remote / Philippines
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 15–20 hours per week
Hours: Must have some overlap with US Eastern Time
Rate: $6–$8/hour to start, depending on experience

About Us

OpSec Consulting is a US-based IT and low-voltage company that provides managed IT services, support, installations, and project work for healthcare and commercial customers.

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented bookkeeping and admin VA to help with day-to-day finance-related tasks. This is a long-term part-time role for someone who is organized, accurate, and experienced with QuickBooks.

Main Responsibilities

You will help with:

  • Entering purchase orders into our billing system
  • Entering receipts and expenses into QuickBooks
  • Creating customer invoices based on information provided
  • Entering vendor bills and matching them to receipts or purchase orders
  • Reconciling bank accounts in QuickBooks
  • Reconciling credit card accounts in QuickBooks
  • Reviewing transactions for accuracy and proper categorization
  • Following up internally when information is missing
  • Keeping records organized and up to date
  • Other bookkeeping or admin tasks as needed

Requirements

The right candidate should have:

  • At least 2–3 years of bookkeeping experience
  • Strong experience with QuickBooks
  • Experience creating invoices
  • Experience entering purchase orders, receipts, bills, and expenses
  • Experience reconciling bank and credit card accounts
  • Good Excel or Google Sheets skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good written English
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to ask questions when something is unclear
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Availability to overlap with US Eastern Time during part of the workday

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is a plus, but not required:

  • Working with a US-based company
  • IT, MSP, construction, service, or project-based businesses
  • ConnectWise, QuoteWerks, QuickBooks, or similar billing/accounting systems
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows
  • Matching receipts to credit card transactions
  • Creating invoices from service tickets, job notes, or project information

Schedule

  • This is a part-time position, likely around 15–20 hours per week to start.

The exact schedule can be discussed, but you must be available for regular communication during part of the US Eastern Time business day.
