Position: Bookkeeper / Admin Support Type: Part-time to start, potential for full-time Rate: $6-10/hr depending on experience About the Role: We're looking for someone to manage the books for a few online businesses. This isn't just a numbers-in-boxes role. If you're the type who likes creating order out of scattered tasks and enjoys picking up admin work wherever it's needed, you'll do well here.
Who I'm looking for:
- Self-motivated: you can take ownership of the books and admin tasks without needing daily check-ins
- Detail-oriented and genuinely comfortable with numbers, reconciliations, and keeping things accurate
- A good learner comfortable picking up new tools, systems, or processes as the businesses grow
- Reliable communicator with good written English
- Stable internet connection and able to work independently
- Comfortable doing some "detective work": tracking down missing invoices, unclear transactions, or information that isn't handed to you directly
What you'll do:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and light accounting tasks for the businesses (reconciliations, expense tracking, invoice/payment tracking)
- Provide timely, real-time financial reporting, not just historical monthly summaries, so numbers can be acted on quickly
- Prepare reports for submission to an industry benchmarking platform
- Work with the AAHA Chart of Accounts ( ---------- /resources/chart-of-accounts)
- Do monthly financial reviews via Loom
- Pick up light admin tasks as they come up
- Possibly help build out systems/processes as the businesses grow
What we need from you, in priority order: 1. Proven bookkeeping experience: reconciliations, expense tracking, invoice/payment tracking, monthly reports/P&L 2. Financial analysis: ability to spot trends and flag them proactively, not just report historicals 3. Admin/EA experience is a plus 4. Strong attitude toward learning new tools, systems, or industry-specific standards (like AAHA) 5. Experience working with US-based businesses 6. Expert-level QuickBooks Online proficiency
