Video Editor

We are a company in the social media and digital content industry looking for a talented and creative Video Editor VA to join our remote team. This is a part-time position working on Central Standard Time (CST) hours. If you have a passion for short-form video content and a strong eye for what makes viewers stop scrolling, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for someone who understands the rhythm and energy of Instagram Reels, keeps up with current trends, and can consistently deliver polished, high-quality edits from raw footage.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Your primary responsibility will be editing raw footage into engaging 30 to 60-second Instagram Reels that capture attention and hold it. You will work closely with our team to maintain a consistent visual style and deliver content that performs well on social media.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Edit raw footage into polished, attention-grabbing Instagram Reels that are 30 to 60 seconds long
• Add captions, transitions, music, sound effects, and motion graphics where appropriate
• Maintain a consistent editing style that aligns with our brand identity
• Deliver high-quality edits within established turnaround deadlines
• Organize project files, revisions, and assets in an efficient and accessible manner
• Stay current with Instagram Reels trends, short-form video best practices, and platform updates
• Incorporate feedback and revisions professionally and promptly

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Proven experience editing short-form video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or a comparable editing software
• Strong understanding of pacing, hooks, and viewer retention techniques
• Excellent attention to detail and a good eye for visual consistency
• Reliable internet connection and the ability to meet deadlines consistently
• A strong portfolio showcasing short-form video editing work is required to be considered

Preferred:

• Prior experience editing content for creators, brands, or businesses
• Familiarity with basic motion graphics and animated captions
• Experience using AI-assisted editing tools such as OpusClip, Descript, or Captions
• Basic knowledge of social media content strategy and platform-specific best practices
