Employment Type: Independent Contractor – Full-Time VA Engagement (contractor agreement, not direct employment) Location: Remote, Philippines-based Working Hours: Minimum 4 hours, ideally up to 6 hours, of daily overlap with AEST/AEDT business hours Reports To: Director Salary: AUD $2,000–$2,600 per month, dependent on experience (approx. AUD $11.50–$15.00 per hour / AUD $460–$600 per week, based on a standard 40-hour week) Payment Cycle: Paid weekly in AUD, one week in arrears (i.e. payment for a given week's work is made the following week)

About Us We are a growing Australian-based construction company specialising in warehouse racking installation projects. We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to support our finance, bookkeeping, and compliance functions remotely, as part of a small in-house accounts team.

About the Role This role is ideal for someone with strong, hands-on experience in Australian bookkeeping practices, reconciliations, and compliance administration. You will take ownership of day-to-day accounts payable, bank reconciliations, WorkCover and Incolink/CoInvest administration, and general finance support – working with a high degree of autonomy.

As this is a virtual contractor role, you must be highly organised, responsive, trustworthy, and able to work independently while communicating clearly with the team.

Scope note: this role focuses on data entry, reconciliations, and compliance administration. BAS, IAS, payroll tax lodgements, and other ATO-related tax lodgements are prepared and lodged by our external accounting firm, Mode Advisory, and are not part of this role.

Reporting & Team Structure This role reports directly to the Director. You will work closely alongside Precious, who currently manages payroll, invoicing, and accounts payable. Once this role is in place, Precious will retain responsibility for payroll, invoicing, and employee reimbursements, while general accounts payable responsibilities will transition to this role. The two positions are expected to work collaboratively as a team, coordinating on shared processes and providing cover for one another.

Key Responsibilities •Manage day-to-day accounts payable processes, including invoice checking, approvals, coding, and payment preparation (final payment release is authorised by the Director) •Complete regular bank reconciliations and ensure transactions are recorded accurately in Xero •Prepare and lodge Incolink and CoInvest submissions •Manage WorkCover administration and reconciliations •Support payroll tax reconciliations (lodgements are prepared and lodged by our external accounting firm, Mode Advisory) •Manage Budgetly allocations, expense tracking, and transaction coding •Support inter-entity loan reconciliations and related account adjustments •Maintain accurate accounts, compliance records, reports, and supporting documentation •Liaise professionally with internal departments, suppliers, subcontractors, and our external accounting firm •Support recurring finance deadlines, month-end processes, and general finance administration •Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, workflow, and efficiency across accounts and bookkeeping processes •Provide ad-hoc payroll assistance and support as required •Work closely with the existing accounts tea ---------- mber on shared processes and coverage

Requirements •5+ years’ experience in a senior bookkeeping, accounts, or similar role, ideally supporting Australian businesses •Working knowledge of Australian bookkeeping fundamentals, including GST, BAS, IAS, PAYG, payroll, and superannuation concepts (this role does not lodge these, but understanding them is important for accurate coding and reconciliation) •Required: hands-on experience with Xero, our core accounting platform •Experience with Budgetly, Incolink, CoInvest, and WorkCover portals highly regarded •Experience with accounts payable, bank reconciliations, payroll support, month-end processes, and financial record keeping •Confident using spreadsheets, email, cloud-based systems, and online admin tools •Strong written and verbal English communication skills •High attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial information •Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet recurring deadlines •Ability to communicate professionally with internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and our external accountants •Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies •Ability to handle confidential financial and payroll information with professionalism and discretion •Comfortable working within defined financial controls – this role prepares transactions and payments; final payment release is authorised by the Director •Availability for a minimum of 4 hours, ideally up to 6 hours, of daily overlap with AEST/AEDT business hours •Ability to work remotely as part of a small, collaborative accounts team with minimal supervision

Highly Regarded •Certificate in Accounting and Bookkeeping or similar Australian bookkeeping qualification •Xero certification •Experience with Incolink, CoInvest, WorkCover, and similar Australian compliance processes •Experience with Australian construction, trades, labour hire, or project-based industries •Experience supporting Australian accountants, CFOs, or finance teams remotely •Prior experience in a fully remote contractor role with an Australian business
